K2 Disorderly 09 Ski size

I'm 165.1 cm (5,4) tall and I need new pairs of skis.

This ski comes in 3 length 159cm, 169cm, and 179cm.

My current skis are 179cm and they are not center mounted so it is hard to do spin tricks.

The K2's are center mounted so it should make it easier to to do spin tricks but the only problem is I don't know if i should get the 159's or 169's.

I am 15 years old and I am probably going to grow a little bit over 170 cm and if I get these I don't want to out grow them because these are pretty expensive but then again i don't want to get long ones because it will be hard to maneuver and do tricks with.

What size should I get???????

Thanks, but I don't really mind if they feel shorter.

I just don't want them to be too long that I can't do tricks.
 
Heh, first post bump.

I'm 6'0 and weigh 135-140 lbs

I've been looking into these skis for something fun and buttery to hit the park with, but I'm kind of torn between the 169s and 179s. Are these skis longer than they are labelled? If so could I get away with 169s? I'm worried the 179's might be too big. Right now I'm on 175 Trouble Makers, but they are way too stiff for my liking. I'd pretty much only be using these in the midwest and the md/pa/wv east coast area.

Yes its true,almost all K2 runs very long. The 179 Disorderly is infact measured to be 183 CM. Basically just add anywhere from 3-6 CM to any K2 ski and thats around the True size.
 
If you're set on getting K2's get the 169s.

i had the same problem as you with K2. I'm 5'5 and i ended up getting the 169 Fujatives mounted center a few years ago. It was a good fit but i remember feeling like i wanted something longer. So i got a pair of 181 Lines (which is the same as 179 in K2) and the lines felt like they were too big. Eventually i got a pair of 176 skis mounted center which have been PERFECT size.
 
you should 100% get the 179s! your a pretty tall guy, and they wont be too long for you.

and for the thread creater, FOR SURE get the 169s. i know a guy who is 5'4" and has 174 punx. they are REAL big on him. you will be verry happy with the 169s!
 
100% without a doubt go for the 169cm models.

K2 skis measure quite a bit larger than most other companies. My old 179 Seth V's towered over some skis in the 183cm range. If you're on the shorter side there is no way you need a ski that big.
