to be fair you can get a gs320 for $430 which is more than he is willing to spend, but it is still very reasonable for a 3ccd camera

look into the pv-gs500 by panasonic, you can find it for 600 and its nasty for a cam at that price, i think its pretty much the same picture as a vx1

regardless, Panasonic makes the best digital cameras out there. yeah yeah people say Sony or Canon but really, when you compare the specs, Panasonic has every other company beat.

if you have the money then definitely go for this, because the quality of a $300 one chip video camera pales in comparison to this camera most notably in low light performance

Actually na, low light performance isn't where 3CCDs most notably differ to single censors. And the dudes who are hating on JVC don't know shit either, JVC are up there. Get the Pana tho, GS is good, 3CCD is good (for colour reproduction in good light), tiny lens but that's where the money goes.

I was just going buy what I have heard, and I heard that since there is more area of ccd's that low light performance is drastically better, but that is just what I have picked up from reading around
