hard disc drive cameras are generally a no.
when you upload them to you computer, mostly they have some shitty codec which you have to convert every clip, their not good in cold weather, their not good if their dropped (but i guess neither are reg cams).
and if you think their good, think about why havent all the other professional film companies switched from tapes yet?
if your looking for a good camera, definitely look into the canon hv20 and hv30 for hi def, or a panasonic pv-gs500 for a non hi def. probably two of the best consumer cameras on the market for the money.
