does anyone have one? if ya do... is it good? and post some of the video it took i wanna see the quality
 
If you're filming action sports like skiing/boarding, you probably wanna stay away from hard drive cameras. they tend not to like jerky motions. I'd recommend HV30. i use the HV20 which is a pretty similar camera, and its awesome.
 
Its alright, my parents never listened to me when i told them i didnt want harddrive, but alas, i received one. I find that its fine for qualitiy and everything. Shaking doesnt mess with it that bad, and stills are good quality.

Its a dece camera but i would go with something else.
 
hard disc drive cameras are generally a no.

when you upload them to you computer, mostly they have some shitty codec which you have to convert every clip, their not good in cold weather, their not good if their dropped (but i guess neither are reg cams).

and if you think their good, think about why havent all the other professional film companies switched from tapes yet?

if your looking for a good camera, definitely look into the canon hv20 and hv30 for hi def, or a panasonic pv-gs500 for a non hi def. probably two of the best consumer cameras on the market for the money.
 
DONT GET A JVC EVERIO. I got one and it uses a weird video format, took me so long to figure out a way to get the video off the camera and onto my computer in a usable format, and even then almost no video editors would accept the file format. Tried to reach customer support and it was shit, they hadn't come up with a solution or file converter. Had to resort to a glitchy 3rd party program, and I still have problems with it.
