I did post it in the M&A thread about this song from before there was a full version out there in the internets, but I feel like it deserves a place in NSG, for the greater viewing pleasure of Newschoolers.

 
Hot damn you have no idea about the Electro/house kick I'm on right now. I just turned of my Akufen to listen to this lol. Not bad but it's time for Justice to change up their style a bit. It's very 1st album.
 
I am very fond of the first album and would be content with another 14 songs of the same style but different execution. Not everything needs "womp..." but I'm sure the album will be at least somewhat innovative.

I went on a 3 month techno/electro obsession in the fall, now I'm all over Queens of the Stone Age, Cold War Kids, etc: my friends keep telling me I'm a hipster but I'm absolutely sure that I'm not. I mean, it's not like I work in a bike shop and dress like one... hipsters dress like me. Beanies and shades and flannels were a skier's thing long before the hipsters started wearing 'em

The fuck are you rambling about. Cold War Kids are bad indie and Queens are definitely not hipster material. Your friends should be chiding you for your poor taste, not your hipsterdom, though the two often interlink.

If you'll note, "etc." was followed by that. Modest Mouse, Alice in Chains, Nine Black Alps, Ash, The Strokes, The White Stripes, and many others join the list of ramblings to which I've been listening to a lot lately, most of which is excellent music; I think they're confusing "bands you haven't heard of" with hipsterdom. Only when "bands you haven't heard of" meets "my taste in music is better than your taste in music" does hipsterdom rear its head.

Yeah. The fuck I am rambling about. the word "fuck" in all its forms has so many different places in the english language... noun helper, adjective, verb, adverb, and so many more... dude it's like a linguistic swiss army knife

my thoughts are so ridiculously scattered today it's like i'm on drugs or something, but I think it's just the mud frisbee
 
Hipsterdom IMO refers to the mainstream indie bands, like the Strokes (though they are alright), Florence and the Machine, Mumford and Sons, MIA etc. The bands that are clearly mainstream, yet are still still retain the indie title somehow.
I don't think liking Indie music makes you a hipster. Being a hipster faggot makes you a hipster. We all know who we're talking about here. The flannel wearing wayfarer douchebags on fixies in 90 degree heat with messenger bags and converses.
 
Fair enough, though one must be careful with that description because everything in that last sentence, with the exception of the douchbag, has its place. Flannels are awesome; fixies are downright fun to ride, and as a bike mechanic, I absolutely love them (there's almost nothing that can go wrong). I tend to prefer backpacks to messenger bags, but they are also a viable and practical alternative; converse-type shoes are simple and last for ages. I think it's the douchebag, not the clothing or bike choices he makes, that makes 'hipsters' unbearable.

One can be a lover of those things which are practical without the side-effect of hipsterdom.

I just wish I had proofread it. Nothing annoys me more than the assrape of the English language by way of a blatant disregard for grammar, especially in the case of parallel structure.

Electro house is the shit. Been listening to sooooo many live sets from EDC and Electric Zoo. Dada Life and Afrojack are just so damn good.

and in other news, digitalism coming out with a new album june 21st
