Just when I thought I didn't need help with this stuff....183 Bent Chet's OR 175 JJ's

Alright folks it look's like I'm finally moving away from the icy east coast and spending a season in beautiful Banff. To celebrate this decision I went ahead and impulse bought some 183 2012 Bent Chetler's. Having never owned a ski with rocker when I received them I got a little (a lot) intimidated by their size, so I went ahead and impulse bought some 175 2013 JJ's. But upon receiving the JJ's they seemed a wee bit short...great.

Now I have two pairs of ski's, one that seems a little large, and one that seem's a little small.

Help me decide plz.

Height: 5'5"

Weight: 145lbs-150lbs depending on how big my morning poop is

Ability: Advanced-Expert is what I like to tell myself

Current Ski: 171cm 2012 Rossi S5 (full camber)

Intended Use:

-Definitely using them as pow stick's but would also like the versatility of being able to take them on groomers.

-Love ducking into the tree's, hitting pillows, hucking cliffs and busting airs.

-Love to charge and go fast.

-Probably won't be doing any backcountry this year but maybe some side country.

I'm going to have my S5's with me for whenever theres a snowfall drought or for hitting the park so my new ski isn't going to be a one ski quiver but I also don't want it to be incapable of ripping the entire mountain.

go with the bigger sticks, you won't regret it. once you get used to the size difference the extra stability and confidence that the extra length and stiffness gives is so worth the uncomfortablness at first. stick with the chets

Go with the Atomics. The Bent Chetler skis pretty short because of the tip and tail rocker! I think its better to learn to whip a bigger skis than out ski and over power a smaller one!

Im jumping 20 & 22cm for new skis this year. Ive ridden them once and had no issues (both are park skis so weight matters a little more). It takes a small adjustment, not completely there yet because I've only ridden half a day, but its not that hard to adjust. Go with the 183cm.

Bentchets every time. bigger ski will serve you better as you progress your pow skiing and the bents are better at handling conditions other than pow and dont have a silly short turn radius.
