Just something on my mind (level 1)

i just read in a thread "all level ones stuff is park, thats why i dont like them that much"

this is bullshit. if you watch the new teaser, there are two shots in the park, the rest is back country and urban. and even those two shots are fuckin sick as hell... flatspin on?!?! i mean fuck that is dope.

also, the past few years berman has just kept getting better. there was a point where i thought of MSP, TGR and PBP as the three top movie companies, now there is level one, and everything else is just a little lower than that. its just so much more original, i dont see how you cant say they arent doing the best job of anyone documenting our sport. best mixture of athletes, and best types of skiing, best music. ok im done.

for this year, the only movies i really feel like seeing are photoplay and long story short. just because the trailers are epic as fuck.

I really would love to see Berman to have enough dough to do a huge heli-trip or something, it would be amazing with his creativity and ingenuity.

Level1 hit its peak at foward,

sh6 gave out the fakest fun vibes, it looked so forced tryn to be something it wasnt.

I really dont think it would be worthwhile for Berman to go on a heli shoot. Who would he film, anyway? I just dont think it's his style. I get your point, though.

Not doubting the epicness of Level 1, but they never have big mtn, its all jumping. Backcountry may not be park, but its not big mtn either.

Yeah, Forward is one of my favorite ski movies ever. But Level 1 is doing a lot of cool stuff. The LSS teaser was sick as hell.

i still find pbp to be the most true ski movie company out there. possibly not the most "core" but fuck it. theyre the originators. nothing beats PBP. level 1 coming in second.

well if pbp won powder's best movie last year with war, and they're getting worse and worse, they must have been superhuman when they started...

It's like a torrential downpour outside, so my plans for the day got shut down. But I'm trying to be productive by applying for random Internet scholarships now.

well you know, i guess your getting something done there then. i actually have to apply for some shit when im out in utah

it seems as though level one is more focused on talent of athletes than focusing on atletes that are sponsored by who ever but maby i am wrong becuase josh works for spy and almost all the people in level one movies are sponsored by spy. its my fav ski company though

they went down hill from 1242 in my opinion. that was the year of pbp. rfa and 1242 were so good. x seemed to have some corney editing like black and white in there for no reason or grainy emo shots. war was aight but the editing didnt change much and it didnt have any shots that blew me away where i would have to go back and re watch them like the level one teaser.

1242 blew everyone away, but i havent been that stoked on a poor boyz movie since. Berman is usually always sick. Sometimes his movies have slow parts (well really just the seg with gagnier talking in high 5), but hes my favorite if i buy one movie its lss

TGR is still the best-they have the perfect mix of riding and lifestyle. and they make sick long movies.. who else has an hour and a half long movie?

this is def true... part of the reason why tgr gets old is cause off all the commentary.. the only stuff like that in lv1 is the gangier thing, which is also just kidna funny.. "i thought i was going to dead!"

but yeah 1242 was dope as well, but think about that line up, how could it not be dope...

Not a heli-trip. That's not really up Berman's alley. But I see what you mean. Maybe just the budget to go build the same kind of shit MSP can build, or the budget to send athletes to any urban rail setup anywhere or whatever.

But sort of what makes L1 seem so cool to me is that they make up for not having bottomless pockets with rider and filmmaker ingenuity. Now everyone wants to work with them because Berm has shown that he can be one of the most successful cinematographers in the industry without too much $$$$$$.

you can only watch so much big mountain before you fall asleep. It gets boring seeing people just ski down the mountain in waist deep powder. Shot over shot of people just skiing down the mountain is not entertaining. Even with the occasional booter its not interesting. The only good big mountain segment that sticks out in my memory is Seth Morrison in focused. But he is on another level with skiing that we will never reach.
