Just ski all winter?

well i have been running track and cross country for as long as it has been offered and am telling my parents that instead of indoor track this winter im just going to ski. I think this is perfectly reasonable because i spent nearly $700 on ski shit and $350 on my pass so it would be a waste to have half of my weekends taken up by track. Am i right? someone please help me feel better about this ski bum decision! haha

On the other hand, you'll only be able to do high school sports once in your life. I love to ski, but for me right now basketball takes priority. You'll always be able to ski, but you'll never be able to go back.

Uhh, you can only freestyle ski for so long too.. after a while your body gets too fucked to shred. Your knees/joints in general turn to a garbled peice of shit and you don't have the same quick recovery time that you had in your youth. If you really enjoy high school sports... I would say go for it, but if you like skiing more, I dont see why you shouldn't ski all winter, it's your life, and hs sports don't really matter much lol, unless you'd like to go professional in something like football/basketball, which probably isn't going to happen anyway.

your parents are assholes if they dont let you ski all weekend this winter, it's not like you're asking them if you can spend every weekend sitting on the couch eating pizza and playing video games...you'll probably still be in shape for track in the spring

Youre not crazy! And if it feels better, I'm an exchange student this year, and have skied my whole life. But I'm still ditching basketball (something I couldent play in Norway) in the weekends for skiing! And this will be my only chance ever to play... Skiing is just much more worth my time!

Hey man i feel you

Ive been on my schools track team since 8th grade (when you are first allowed to join) and I absolutely love it. Skiing takes a priority for me though.

So Skiing > Running so im going to ski almost every day next season. Going to N* or Kirkwood on weekends and SKIING THE NEW SNOWFLEX CENTER 30 MINUTES FROM MY HOUSE

/claim

fuck running. its not even a sport. get a bike for the summer. running would only be cool if it was a contact sport and all the runners could fight eachother while they were running and the one little kid would just run through all the fighting and win

honestly both sports you can do all your life ski and shred now and do track and run just during the off season ski while you can especially since you got all that new equipment and season pass. Put that shit to use!!!

seriously, the only good thing about winter is skiing. And i'm not off the wall crazy about snowmobiling anyway. without skiing the winter would suck balls and i would move to CA.

me too. Played hockey for 9 years and when i played AA i had 2 games every weekend so I quit to ski and i think i def. made the right choice for me. I mean i still love hockey and play pond now and then but skiing won.

I quit all other sports to ski. Except for in the summer I do other stuff. I EVEN QUIT MY JOB FOR THIS WINTER! I just figured why would I need money or sports if I can ski every single day of winter?

to those who say you only get to play high school sports once, i say once you get to college no one gives a crap if you played sports in high school...just do what you wanna do...if you enjoy skiing more do that...you only live once so do what you enjoy

You could always join the ski team. When I was on it, i got to live the high school sports experience, and shred most of the mountains in wyoming, every other weekend, FOR FREE.the trick is not turning into a douche bag racer. it is possible though.
