I just sent this email to fuel tv to try and convince them to air skiing.

Fuel is full of sick sports. Skating, Snowboarding etc. But i never see and SKIING. I mean if anyone would pay attention and follow freestyle skiing they would see that it is progressing in a way like no other extreme sport. Skiing is my favorite sport to watch like in t he X games or gravity games. I think that fuel should air more freestyle, backcountry, urban rails, park skiing. From riders like Tanner Hall, Eric Pollard, Simon Dumont. Any of today's top pro skiers. I know everyone thinks skiing is "lame" or "uncool" but they are just being ignorant and are not seeing that skiing is becoming as "cool" and "entertaining" as any other extreme sport.

We should get mad people to send emails like this and maybe it will convince them to show skiing.
 
i like your idea but i don't think they will ever show more skiing than Untracked. they are just gay that way
 
I think it's good that you wrote them an e-mail. Don't listen to the haters who say that they won't do anything, blah blah. FuelTV, like any business, is in it to make money, and if they feel that their viewership wants to watch skiing, they will put it on. The only way for them to know is for proactive people like you to email them. Many corporations will take one e-mail from a viewer and multiply it by 1000 to estimate the number of people who feel the same way. So if only one person writes in, they'll think only 1000 people want to watch the show. but if 100 people write in, then you've got 100,000 and that's a pretty big market (for an action sports channel). The only other thing I would suggest is to write to sponsors who advertise on the show (read: commercials). No matter how many people want to watch skiing on Fuel, they won't do anything unless they can convince the sponsors that the show will be watched.
 
skiing is beginning to sell more then snowboarding, give it a year or two more and i think it will be better
 
new series of ski p.i.g was on over here recently...that is basically the extent of skiing on there though. and nic mercon won with a double daffy double twister spread or something, and spriggs stomped a sexy 9
 
i think its a sick idea but its a tv station run by skaters snowboarders wakeboarders and bmxers freestyle skiing is just not as popular of a world wide sport compared to snowboarding and skate boarding
 
you forgot surfing, which they probably air more of than any of those other sports except skating. I haven't watched it in about 6 months though

I dont think fuel has connections to our sport. Fuel does such a good job at looking at each lifestyle and giving you a good look at reality, my favorite show on the channel is "Drive Through", so dope. Freeskiing also has the most unique lifestyle, which is the biggest aspect of skiing i mostly appreciate. Once our sport gets on fuel, alot of kids will become interested in the lifestyle and become to have a different outlook on it like i have for all of these other sports, like motocross, snowboarding, and surfing. Every sport has a unique lifestyle and if they where to exploit each one, it would be such a better channel in my opinion.

I notice watching your programming that there is a lack of skiing. I don't know if it's because you have the lack of air time, or skiing doesn't seem cool, or hip with the mainstream. Well I'm hear to tell you that skiing has been making a come back for a while now and is now gaining major momentum. Sales of twin tip skis have overtaken those of snowboards and with that comes the correlation that more kids are finally sticking to skis. The evidence in the form of movies, and even the X-Games is finally reaching more and more of the young shredders demographic.

This is not a bash against snowboarding because I have the upmost respect for boarders and half my riding buddies are just that- snowboarders. Another reason to include skiing. Snowboarders and skiers are friends now. The war is over and has been for a long time. Both sports are working together and pushing each other. Although mainstream may say otherwise in the form of Saturday morning cartoons, or commercials for extreme backpacks and fruit drinks; I'm telling you, as I'm sure many others are as well, that skiing is going to become very lucrative as much and if not more than snowboarding. So what better time to join than now where you can say that you've supported skiing since... well let's say it's re-birth. It has legit written all over it.

If what I'm telling you is what you already know then... why are you waiting? What are you waiting for?
 
I recently met a producer that works at fuel. He said that they are looking into airing more skiing on the channel. Their concern is that they don't want to dilute their core boardsports programming. So I think it's important to mention in your emails if you participate in, or enjoy watching, skating, surfing or snowboarding. It would help them understand that they are not shifiting demographics by airing more skiing.

Also, as I mentioned in another post, there is a rumor that they just approved their first skier firsthand and will base future skiing programming on how that goes.

I think sending them emails has gotten them this far. Sending more will definitely keep pushing them to continue moving in the right direction.
 
not only is it going to take many emails from the freeski community, it will take well written emails. no offense, but most people on this sight can barely spell, let alone write an email that fuel representatives will take a second look at.

they showed an "Unsponosred" segment thingy of a skier, he wasnt very stlyish tho wat-so-ever so i really doubt it did any good for us
 
That's sweet that you did that and everything but you should proofread your e-mails. Correct English should give you a lot more acredability.
 
my movie is going to be on fuel..it contains skiing...just chill out buddy noone wants to listen to an angry nobody with no idea...people like you are the reason people say skiing is "uncool" and "lame"....

Hello, I am a freestyle skier or newschooler named Andrew Foley. I write this email to complain why is there no freeskiing in your TV lineup. I do not understand why. It has grown almost as big as snowboarding, as for when I got into the terrain parks I see as many snowboards as twin tips. Also pro freeskiers have been going bigger than snowboarders as you might have noticed in the last X-games and I believe they deserve some credit. I know the general public does not like freeskiing as of right now, but I think if you air some clips of in in a half an hour block it will they will grow to enjoy watching it as much as I do.
 
Why all the hate? And I dont think i am the reason the general public thinks skiing is "lame".

Hey fuel, I love your channel and all, but one of my favorite activities gets no airtime! I'm talking about skiing. Not the skiing of 1990 with dayglo jackets and sweet mogul lines, but the skiing of today with superpipe, slopestyle, urban, and bc jibbing and skiing. Skiing is getting more and more popular, and I really think that even if you gave skiing one half hour of programming a week it would really be proactive towards your channel's viewers and ratings. My family recently changed cable services so I no longer get fuel on a daily basis, but if you showed more skiing I would for sure spend some of my paycheck to watch. Anyways, I know there is a huge market that you are leaving untapped right now, and I really hope you do something about it! Thanks a lot
 
Guys they are not going to listen to you if you say shit in your email that says skiers go bigger than snowboarders, or have more style, crazier... etc. We're not about trashing other sports, but promoting our own.
 
any ways to actually contribute to this thread here is my persuasive email to fuel tv:

Hi my name is Matt Heffernan and I've been watching Fuel TV for about three years now. I decided I would purchase it when I heard it was an action sports channel. Hearing that I figured there would be a lot of freestyle skiing in there considering there is so much surfing, biking, skating, snowboarding, etc. But to my surprise all I've seen was Happy Dayz once on Aspect Cinema and two episodes of Untracked that included freestyle skiing. I believe that if Fuel put a full time freestyle skiing show in, Fuel would attract many new customers. My reason for this is that there is an online community of skiers called www.newschoolers.com and on this website are more than 100,000 freestyle skiers who would all be interested in watching/purchasing fuel if it aired more freestyle skiing. For example:

But even without skiing I still love your show because I love skating, bmx, snowboarding, etc. It would just be really cool if there could be a first hand on a pro skier such as Mike Douglas or a young gun, a show that was similar to Heikki Sorsa Project, or a show similar to skate maps that was done with Zoo York but maybe fallowing a ski team such as salomon through producing a movie.

If skiing would be put on Fuel TV more often, it would mean so much to me as well as hundred of thousands of other freestyle skiers. Please consider my request.

Seriously, some of you kids are retarded, and know nothing of persuasion... We are trying to "persuade" fuel to give freeskiing more airtime. You don't reach your target audience (fuelTV) by saying "all the sports you guys like such as snowboarding, skating, etc. are lame! Skiers go so much bigger in X-Games!"

Try simply saying:

Hey guys-

I really enjoy watching fuelTV. The shows rock! I love all the skatin' and snowboarding action you guys show. The cinematography and editing are superb. There is only one problem: No skiing! Skiing is a sport that just like any board sport allows its participants to express themselves athletically and artistically while immersing themselves in an exciting and unique culture. The freeskiing scene is growing rapidly and you guys should totally show more skiing action.

That's it. don't bash snowboarding are talk about how skiing sales are surpassing snowboards. Why would you try and argue the point that skiing is better than boarding when trying to persuade a primarily boardriding network to show skiing?
 
just treated my self to some direct tv hd programing & and i was kinda wondering if there were anyother chanels that aired any skiing. anyone know?
