after installing a few nessecary programs and windows service pack two i have exactly 4.0 kb of space left...what the hell did i do...? I rebooted from the windows xp disk...and it asked me some questions about partitioned space... there were 3 options...a large amount of partitioned space..(in the thousands large) and then one that was 8mb...im thinkin i should of picked the 8mb one...

HELPP!...please...

reformat and make sure you do a destructive reforamt. otherwise all your programs are backed up, basically doubling the amount of harddrive used.

im thinkin thats what i did this time...anyone have a straight up step by step I can follow..for XP. I've searched the internet but havn't found much

Just put the xp cd back in. When it comes to the partition space, look for the option that says "format drive." You probably hit f or something. I haven't done it in a long time. When is asks how to partition the drives, just make it the biggest possible.

on startup hit f11 whenit says to, and go from there. different comp companies have different ways to do it.

When prompted select "New/Clean install". Select the large partition from the list and say "Format NTFS" and it SHOULD wipe everything before doing the install. Say no to any requests to backup
