damn son.... so jealous. That is probably the sexiest camera ever made, such capability and at such a tasty price. I want one so bad I nearly sold my car to get it. I expect a full report on the video features. Good selection, congratulations.

Okay Butka wtf. Where did you get the cash? Shit. Can't wait to see the stuff you turn out with this. Did you pre-order?

Such a dope camera. My dad has a 5d mark 2 as his "play around camera". He's a photographer (senior pictures and family pictures, stuff like that) so he's got all the nicest bodies and glass. He let me play around with his 1ds mark 3 the other day, that thing is sweeet.

Haha no preorder. I work at best buy and I got in on it. As for cash, well the employee discount was nice but I now have $5 in my checking account... lol

Here why personally i cannot justify financially to pick up this camera.

IMHO, for its price its not the greatest camera....i am not talking performance but like value...do you really need 21 MP, and i am kinda doubting the video feature will be that great, although i would happily liked to be proved wrong. It means you are going to have to carry a tripod with you if you are expecting to shoot video. The justification comes down to what you shoot, and i guess that has yet to have been discussed. Me personally i spent 650 on a demo version of a 40d which left me with money to spend 70-200 2.8 which altogether was 2200...

I really don't know where i am going with this, maybe its to early for me, just my two cents

21mp, yes. I used to use a 20d @ 8.2mp. In school i have been printing up to 20x30 prints @ 360dpi. with 8.2mp @ 360dpi, it would become a just under an 8x10 and if i wanted to make it bigger, i would ned to expand on that and add pixels that should be there. So when I make larger prints, its not as sharp as it should be. Now I wont have that problem. As video, I almost always have a tripod on me. I have a very light carbon fiber tripod that I use. As for auto focus, there are two different types, one is quick and can not be used during video. The other is slow, but can be used during video. I used the quick one, and manually focus when I need to. As for live view, its cool but when I do shoot work, I connect my camera to my laptop and view the pictures that way. Now with live view, I can see the live view on my laptop. That fucking badass for studio shoots!!

I will be posting a whole little review this weekend about noise, video, etc. Give me some time, I got finals this week.

As for what glass, currently I have a 28-135mm usm is. Just after christmas, I am buying a 24-70 L 2.8. I also have a 70-300 usm is.

fair enough, obviously you have good use for it in your work to justify the use of such high MP, but yah getting that glass should help, can't wait to see some of your shots

i wouldn't judge the video of that from that video, it was shot with $30,000+ in lenses....although its pretty cool i will admit it, and shows the limits and true power to the extreme of this camera

Damn I am jealous would love to have one (except I haven't got the money to upgrade to it and buy a whole new lens set (EF instead of EF-S). Looking forward to see how it performs, from the looks of things (you blog) it should be pretty damn good. Those ISO shots are all fairly acceptable, the high end ones especially.

WOw that is fucking impressive. Props, the camera looks so dope. Video is un real. HOLY FUCK

you lucky bastard (apart from the $5 checking account balance). i've been meaning to go full frame for a looong time - shooting a 20D with a 70-200mm 2.8IS, 28-70mm 2.8 and 20mm 2.8, and all of those lenses lose sooo much, especially the 20mm and 28-70mm. like right now, i use the 28-70 as my walking around lens, but the focal range would be so much sexier on a FF body. definitely looking into the new 5D after the holidays when camera shops will probably be lowering their prices (assuming, of course, that the holiday season sales are lackluster). what lenses are you shooting with?

whoops, just saw your glass that you posted. and by 28-70 i mean 24-70 (get it when you have the scratch, it's WORTH it)
