Apparently WBCN and Sprint are doin' some promotion, and they're workin' with A.S.C. (american ski company) raffling off a bunch of shit... over at Cambridgeside Galleria here in Boston...

so i go over for my lunch break to the food court and i finish my food, run to Best Buy lookin' for new cd's and shit... after i leave, i get on the escalator and i see this poster for Sprint and WBCN with this skier on it, so i'm like what the hell is that? I get up to it and its 'Meet Olympic Gold and Silver medalist Jonny Moseley from 12-2' so naturally i run over there and fuck me, the Golden Boy is right there signin' autographs to middle aged women runnin' errands in the mall!!! hahaha...

now i know some of you are gonna start talkin' shit about Jonny and sayin' that 'oh he's a sell out' but i could care less, this is the guy that i looked at and said 'fuck racing' and i got into freeskiing... definitely one of my idols...

just thought it was mad cool...

as much fo a tool as he may be now (and by tool, i mean selling out and making a SHIT LOAD of money), he was one fo teh main reasons I got into freeskiing. seeing his 360 Iron Cross Mute Grab in nagano basically made my mind up, and i started freeskiing a lot more bnecause of him. he isn't someone I have a great deal of respect for now, but I still know he was one of the origanals.

when johhny mosely skied he was sick..... people get old and dont do crazy shit anymore and make money........ look at moguls know there throwing d-spins and shit in competition....

 
Krent Krietler, Jp Auclair, Mike Douglas, Jf Cusson, Shane Szocs, Vincent Dorien and whoever else i forgot were doing 360 mutes way before moseley, they just weren't on tv.

Ya he made grabbing your skis mainstream, but when he was throwing dinner's rolls at the jonny moseley invatational *cough* just a rodeo 900, skogen and boys like tanner, were already blowing him out of the water progression wise, unntay tricks, flatspins, switch corks, etc.

There's no doubt he is a have decent skier, he got caught up with his pretty boy looks, and all the fame. I think he is way overrated, and it shadowed everyone else that was in sport already years ahead of him.

He's all about Backcountry jibbing now, im sure he'll have a decent seggy in a PBP film this year.

It doesnt matter if people were doing the 3 mute before him or if they were doing it better them him, point is I never saw any of the guys doing it before moseley because none of them got any publicity. And thats what really counts(well for starting a trend at least). I know for a fact that it was his 360 mute in the olympics that really started my ski career along with many many others.

I agree with kev, also everyone knows who mosely is outside the skiing world and not everyone knows who tanner,jf,vinnie, etc are. Whenever i hav to talk about freeskiing to some ignorant person, I hate to bring up mosely but unfortunately i do. Godamit mosely you basterd, oh and the fact that some people say i look like em FUCKIN EH!

Did anyone see that video? That was sooo sick for back in 2000. A switch 7 and that dinner roll nine was pretty nuts. I really dont see why people hate on someone that could still kill them in the park.

jonny mosely isnt even part of the freeski community, he doesnt even ski anymore too busy hosting gay shows for mtv. I dont think he can even slide a rail.

What's with all they hate? Sellout? He made a ski game(sucked, but still), Got noticed by mainstream America, and took certain aspects of skiing to some fame with him. Being on MTV makes him a sellout? If someone waived a million dollar contract in front of your face you would not turn it down, and if you say you would you are a fucking liar. Is Tony Hawk a sellout? Sure they still show him skating, but Johnny probably does too, just not in movies or comps. Ease up people.

 
props to jonny for mainstreaming skiing a bit, but i think the ballet at the end of the video sums up his skiing prowress at this point.

no i dont hate on what 'he did' and i dont think hes responsible for everythin in newschool. However, I do hate on the fact that he gave up. Yes tony hawk's a sellout but hes still a sick skater, he kept ridin whereas mosely in park never progresed.

no doubt was he an innovator of the sport, but he did become a sell out, and im sure he does ski. watch ski movie 1 haha and he does the first rails and comes off switch, thats liek 97 sooooo
