no communism is fundamentally flawed and cannot work. but cuba has a better health service and education than the US in terms of what is available for everyone.

Castro's education system is pretty solid, and as for propaganda, he's no more efficient at propeganda than the United States government is.

For example, Cuba, a small island country is a threat to America's freedom and is cut off from diplomatic ties, China on the other hand, a repeated human rights abuser, military dictatorship with a thin veil of communism, and rising military threat is an essential trading partner.

It's easy to think Castros a bad guy and uses propaganda and America's the land of the free, but the continued American view on Cuba is the result of successful propaganda use at home. We just tend to soften the bullshit our politicians spout by calling it 'Spin'

I don't really think Castro has been a threat to the US since the Cuban Missile Crisis in the early 60's. But foriegn policy denotes, keep your friends close, and your enemies closer... And as far as China is concerned, we don't need to fuck with them anymore than we need to lift sanctions from Cuba. Although trade embargoes from the US have hurt the Cuban economy they still have enough trade partners elsewhere in the world to where it really doesn't make a difference. The poverty in that country has only been brought on by Castro's policies, and the hugely unbalanced distribution of wealth caused by those policies...
