the skin is an organ becuase it has many differnt types of cells, and has a specific task (looked up the definition) but i dunno about fat.. is there more than 1 type of fat cell hmmm.. i think so theres like good fats bad fats and fatty acids but i dunno if it has a specific task and i dont think all those types of cells are groped and are codependent.

Uhh, actually, schlonginator, I do know what I'm talking about. In anatomy last year, we learned about the skin and how it was an organ by definition because (as I believe 666 said) it's a group of many cells and has a function and whatnot, and your fat makes up some of the layers of your skin... primarily found in the hypodermis, but also in the dermis I believe. Since fat is also found ON other organs (heart, kidneys, etc.) I don't know if I myself would counsider it an organ. I guess it depends on whom you talk to... maybe some doctors do, but I doubt it.
