Just how much damage is done when mounting skis for a second time

As long as you fill the old holes well you should be fine, pivots have a unique mounting pattern too which probably wont end up too close to the old holes.

Zero damage. The general rule of thumb is three mounts before the ski is getting weak.

unless you are having binding issues, I would not waste money on pivots for the cool factor.

I don’t think there’s much damage done. It happens.

I’ve remounted twice on my Salomon Suspects. After they tore out for the third time there was nowhere left to drill holes.

I am on my first Pivots after being a marker skier for my entire life. The transmission is great, the feel is great, you don’t budge once you’re in, and they release predictably. But they are really expensive and honestly if you’re already mounted up I wouldn’t consider it. There’s not enough benefit to consider it a serious upgrade and it won’t make you a better skier. It’s more like a luxury thing

so in short if you’re buying new skis go for it but remounting just to have Pivots isn’t worth it IMO
