Skis: Boone Magic Sticks 170cm Powder/Park

So for many reasons such as just coming back west last night at around 2 o clock AM, I didn't feel like hiking up endless snowfields and hard trails to ski for an hour. Neither did my dad.

So to share the love, I'm giving you pictures! yay be happy

These skis have a sick flex. Perfect height for me for park (5'8", and I'm 130-135 lbs), and not to mention the graphics are off the chain.

Mounted center with these:

These are about the exact same size as the anthem, but better.

here are the picturecizores:

From what I have seen and felt (no pun intended), boone skis are indeed the sexiest or close to the sexiest skis on the planet...

And this is really not biased. I was going to get anthems but the boone skis seemed to be more in my range of park ski that would still work for sticking tricks in powder. It's also still relatively soft compared to most skis, but stiff enough to go fast without too much chatter and you can butter these as if they melting on bread according to the reviews I've seen. Seems like a good deal to me. Oh, and the bamboo core is pretty enviro-friendly and provides that great flex pattern also...

looking forward to another great season.

i dont think anyone else posts pictures when they get new skis, if we wanted to see them we could just go on the site, which i think everyone knows by now as its posted absolutely everywhere on ns

Congrats man, I also have the magic sticks. I have they 175's 82 waist though, but I agree they look sick. Good luck those.

they dont make 175s...its 170cm or 180. I would have gotten 175 if I could.

but right on.

and Boone is a small company so I'm just showing some support...these are sick skis and deserve to be ridden.

Why do the tails seem short in every boone pic i have seen? Are the tails less than a full twintip?

I have mounted mine yet though, I gonna get some rossi bindings but it skilling me if I should mount center or like 2cms back. I ski east coast pro like 50-60 percent all mountain and messing around and the rest park.

BUMP boone is a sick company and im really looking forward to how they get their new shit rollin after they develop a true pow ski

sick, i was trying to decide between those and the anhems as well... i ended up getting the spirals just as an impulse buy and love 'em! those look sick to man! maybe i'll pick some up in a year or twp...

Another Boone Ski employee trying to pretend their another customer that loves teh product and just has to make a thread about it! haha TOTALLY KIDDING THIS TIME, I ACTUALLY KNOW THIS KID IN REAL LIFE. SO NO ONE FREAK OUT...

Haha, nearly got me with the top bit...

Those look like sick skis. You'll have to let us know how they ski once you ski on them.

well I did wet grass/carpet skiing and doing butters and shit. it was fun. it worked out well haha

you know you're addicted to skiing when...

93 waist (125-93-119) come in 170, and 180

82 waist (111-82-106) come in 165, and 175

Get them while theyre hot, guys! haha.

They arent noodles at all. Kinda a good medium flex. Not stiff by any means either. fun to whip around.

They sure do snap you back in a butter though. Really good for Ollies, and popping off jumps.

Pretty damn light as well, so they will be easy to jib with, for sure.

Hey guys - not to interrupt your forum but I know a lot of people have asked how light the skis are... We finally have an answer!

The BOONE crew went on our weekly field trip to ship skis and got the genius idea to just ask the UPS lady how much they weigh. According to the UPS ladies scale (I can't vouch for whether it is accurate or not) our largest and heaviest ski (93mm waist 180cm length) weighted in at a featherweight 2lbs and 4.5 ounces.

iNot trying to hate, but I would verify that with a good kitchen scale, something that can measure grams.

The lightest carbon skis are about 1300 - 1400 grams each, 2lbs 4.5oz is 1035grams.

If its accurate, congrats on making the worlds lightest skis!

it's probably right on. i'd imagine that for a carbon ski to be stong enough to survive it would need to weigh a little more than a wood/fiberglass ski.

That's light as hell. How come these things are priced less than $500 when the carbon skis are Waaay more? Like I posted before, I want a pair as soon as I save up - don't increase the price BOONE!

price will not be increased..

thats part of the thing we try to do at Boone.. have a ski thats of incredible quality, that isnt overpriced or anything like other companies will do.

we try to keep ours affodable so you guys can have good skis, and still afford a pass lol.

Kids........it sounds like these skis are light, but...

1) Carbon skis if done right kill it and are extremely light. All you need to do it look at dp skis. The 202cm lotus 120 and 138 and fucking huge and extremely light.

2) The transfer of power in a ski using carbon prepegs is also much greater than in skis using glass.

3) Last, do remember these skis are not exactly huge. Even the 93mm pair is pretty tiny compared to skis like the dps which are 120 and 138 respectivley and are over 200cm long.

I would need to weigh them myself to really judge but while I am sure they are light, if the same ski was made with carbon is would be without question lighter and stronger just by the nature of the two materials you are working with.

The ski would also be signigicantly more expensive and the tooling and manufacturing process of carbon prepegs is more difficult, but ask anyone whose ever skied a dps and you will know why it is done.
