Just bought a pair of Lange Comp 100s.... Quick question

So i found a pair of these bad boys online for $129 and couldn't pass them up. I know I know, always should try them on first. Thing is, my current boots just have too many days on them and can't afford to drop a lot of money on a new pair.

I snagged them and now I am just praying they are stiff enough. I ski mostly all mountain and love to charge. Will they hold up? I did some research after the fact and found out there is a Comp 120 thats stiff. I weigh around 195 and am 6ft. I figure I will also purchase a booster strap and toss that on there as well.

Should at least be better than a pair of packed out Head Mojos right? Basically I am just asking if anyone has any experience with this boot and if they believe it will be stiff enough for me.

Thanks,

Brandon

I've been skiing those boots for six years, and personally I hate them. I hope you have a narrow foot because my wide-ass feet felt like someone was crushing them in a spiked vice grip whenever I put my foot in. As for the actual boot, aside from my own personal sizing issues, they're damn good.

I'm a very aggressive all-mountain skier, always take the fall line and all that and those things could handle anything I threw at them. Responsive as fuck. I've skied them on everything from gnarly-ass ice on the east coast to deep powder on the west and never had any issues. I'm 6'1" and 155 pounds though, so they may not be stiff enough for you. That being said... 120 is for hardcore racers, and those things were probably a bit TOO stiff for me despite how aggressive I am, so I'm sure it will be fine. At the very worst they'll be SLIGHTLY too flexy, but not enough for it to really effect your skiing, especially for how much you paid for them. If they didn't crush my feet they would've been a great boot, so you'll probably like them a lot if you have the right foot shape.

Enjoy, but keep in mind for the future... if there's one piece of ski equipment you should drop bank on and that's your boots. No questions asked the most important gear you own. If your foot isn't comfortable or your movement isn't being channeled into your skis correctly by your boot, nothing else matters. I'm broke as fuck, spent $150 on my skis but dropped $600 on making sure my boots are perfect. Just a suggestion.

if they end up being to soft for you go to a good race shop and have them stiffen them up. shouldnt be more than 50 bucks, if you are in the oregon washington area check out mt.hood alpine racing center(best boot builder ever)

you put up with them for 6 years?

its not that hard to save up 600 bucks to get a pair of boots that work for you...

Actually, it is. I donno, I should've done it sooner but every year I figured "Well... I'll put up with them for ONE more year", and even though I always regretted it the same thing would happen again next year. I'm very stingy man, what can I say? Haha.

i have done the same thing since i stopped racing, about 4 years... I skied the 100 for a long time and i never even needed to tighten them all the way, once you crank the buckles down they are stiff as hell. I just got some new Lange freestyle 80 this year so i am stoked for new boots that dont fit like my old race ones.
all that aside i think they should be stiff enough for you, especially with some booster straps

Haha yup... got them for racing and just never got rid of them when I stopped... they're stiff as fuck, and to think I almost got some Rossignol 110 BCs instead of the Nordica Ignitions. As this guy said though, you should be fine. 100 is pretty damn stiff, maybe if you planned on taking them out to ski on ice fields all day they'd be a little too flexible for your weight but you should be OK.

I wish i would of went with the 100's instead of my comp 120's...they were painful to ski park at times in but overall a super nice boot.
