Just bought 07 K2 Silencer...

Man, if something goes wrong with those, hopefully they'll warranty them, since they are rep samples. And yes, I know you bought them from a store, but seeing as K2 hasn't manufactured that ski yet, just sample pairs for reps, that's the only way they would have them.
 
i hated the silencers when i skied them the other weekend. They are quite narrow compared to K2's twins now, granted that is what they were going for. I also felt like they didnt carve to well, idk why but i though my moships performed better out of the park. I also wasnt a big fan of the flex on then either.
 
They are not rep samples, the kid bought the skis at a store which are fully refundable if anything would ever go wrong.

We sold out of everything from this year. WHy not just make new batches of this year's you ask? Because you spec out how much you need of each specific raw material way in advance due to the leadtimes, inks, base colors, specific construction materials, sidewalls, etc. When you run out and you already have all of these new shipments of goods coming in for the upcoming year's skis, it simply makes sense to start production on those and offer them to stores to fill the need. Hope that answered some questions for ya.
 
i loooove your set-up...other than the rec. mounting position on them...i can't stand k2's reccomended line, wow...i mounted my bros p.e's at i think plus 5 last year and they felt soooooo much better for everything, im getting a pair of these this season
 
Is it true that the Silencers use the same mold as the old pes? I read that somewhere on this site so it could just be bullshit.
 
yea they're rocking the exact same dimensions as the first pe but like said above they're lighter cuz of the cap construction and likely stronger tip/tail cuz of the rivets
 
actualy I think the black bases are the team ones and the white bases are the regular ones. they just cut the pieces out of a big sheet then put them togeather, the whit is not actualy one piece it is multiple pieces.
 
To clarify what K2 has done this year they have actually made the Silencer, Vicious, and Nancy with 2 different bases. The Silencer comes with Black and White or White and Black. They are at random, but I can tell you that the bases are black about 90% of the time with the Silencer. It is more confusing with the Seth's and Nancy because each size has a different color topsheet and base. Hope that helps.

Now. My shop in the UK (Ellis Brigham) got the new K2 about a month ago.

And about mounting points, if you compare a PE/Fujative/Silencer to a ski like a 1080/etc, the recommended line on those would line up to about +5 on a K2.
 
Are they random or are they alternating between black and white, because now that i think of it all the 179's I have seen are black bases and all the 169's have been white.
 
Completely random. You could get a 179cm Silencer with a white base, or a 179 with a black base. The Seth bases are different colors on each size, but do not alternate the way the Nancy's and Silencer's do. Each Seth top is a different color along with different sidewalls. The Nancy base also switches colors, so you can get one pair with the full neon base, or one that is black with neon. Each size is a different graphic and different colored sidewalls and bases.

why didn't you center mount then, but look so far back, you've made them into gruming skies, not good not good...you should get them mounted at like +9
 
No, but the Missdemeanors are from the same mold as the old PE, just as the Nancy is from the same mold as the old pistol
