I hope this isn't a repost cuz i did use the searchbar haha... I just found this SHOCKING when i read this email the other day.

"Let's look at the list of books Mayor Sarah Palin tried to get town librarian Mary Ellen Baker to ban in Wasilla, Alaska. When Baker refused to remove the books from the shelves, Palin threatened to fire her. The story was reported in Time Magazine http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,1837918,00.html and the list comes from the librarian.net website.

Go and get one of the books you'll find on the list and give it a read in honor of the founding fathers. Then tell me I'm not the only voter who doesn't want this woman within thirty feet of the United States Constitution...do you remember the part about free speech?

Just thought i would share this with NS

I know I wish the government had protected me from reading Harry Potter...

She is a christian wacko(not all christians are wacko but she is) but at least she wouldn't raise my families taxes. The irs has been garnished my moms wages and actually did it for too long and owed her money then sent her a letter saying that they admit they fucked her over but it had been too long so they weren't going to pay it back. There really isn't a candidate that I agree with on 60%+ of the issues this time.

huclberry fin, little red riding hood WTF those are timeless classics. Whats wrong with her.

and asif she's banning harry potter,i dont liek them i just think its odd that she wants to ban them because everyone is in love with those books.

the only book i could kinda understand would be the pig man, we read it last year in english and i didnt think it was bad at all but are teacher told us that it is banned from schools in a bunch of the states because it deals with underage kids drinking and smoking.

I dont get why its on the banned book list (not this one), i mean if you are stupid enough to let a book influence you to the point where you do stupid shit then well thats just retarded

i got a real kick out of the picture in the ny times today of her posing with the elk and the little kid next to her, she's fucking insane, that whole article was intense

i also can't believe that, that list consists of most of my favorite books and most of the books that are essential to literature. i mean catch-22, grapes of wrath, catcher in the rye, she's talking about banning most of the classics, fucking whore

wtf, if that's really true then she's a fucking nutbag, so many of those books are classics

as much as i fucking hate sarah palin, this email has been proven to be false. She never had a list of books to ban, she just asked the local librarian what the librarian would do if she tried to ban some of the books in the library.

phewww i could not believe my eyes. good thing that would've been ridiculous.
its also funny that if this were true, besides fucking up confidentiality, which this librarian would have to deal with, the patriot act, which all the democrats have problems with, is what would have made this accessible by government officials

yeah thats good its not true. but either way some kid posting a thread on NS is NOT going to change my vote hahah, i dont care how many books she tried to ban.

she wouldnt raise your family's taxes?

i wish i was in your family then, being that you are making over $300,000 a year

I was saying that I don't agree with most of her and mccains shit but at least they won't raise taxes. And my mom makes about 60k a year and the irs has been fucking her over so don't assume anything.

even if she did want to ban all these books she wouldnt be able to congress wouldnt let it happen

Sara Palin is the fuckin anti-christ!! haha if john mccain got elected and died during his term what the hell would she do? make more lipstick/hockeymom jokes. and i love how shes insulting obama for having "no experience" YOU WERE IN THE PTA A COUPLE YEARS AGO FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!!

im soooo happy he chose that nutbag moron to be his VP because now he has absolutely no chance of winning the election.

i find that ironic because the mask in your icon is the same one all the anonymous people wear. and its in that movie too, but thats besides the point...

Biggest bullshit ever, how could you guys honestly believe she wanted to ban all of these books.
http://www.abcnews.go.com/Blotter/Story?id=5766173&page=1

Apparently she asked the librarian on two occasions about banning books from the library. The church she went to wanted to ban a bok called 'Pastor I am Gay'. And Palin ended up firing the librarian too. Although its bullshit to ban any book from the library and the whole situation seems suspicious, she definitly didn't want to ban all those books listed above. I think that list is every book that has been banned lol.

And I am subtracting karma for blatantly false information.

yeah, she contacted a librarian and asked about book banning. There isn't a specific list of what "sarah palin wanted to ban"...all she did was ask the librarian if they would allow book banning in their library.

OMFG!!!!!!!!11!!!!1!!!!eleventy!!!!! you really hurt my feelings by taking away my internet karma! Dude I just was sharing an email i recieved with the beautiful community of Newschoolers... and i didn't research whether or not it was true because it wouldn't change my opinion of the republican campaign one iota...

Actually i don't like either candidates and I believe the US should be able to find some better people to run... and there should be more than 2 parties, i mean parties that have a chance in hell at winning.
