The alcohol that gets you drunk is ethanol. like two carbons and a OH group. When your making alcohol if you accidently make methanol, which only has 1 carbon, you could go blind. I dont know how you mess this up though.

Word, this is why you don't drink rubbing alcohol - the methanol that they throw in as an additive is so you can't drink it at all. If you do, you get fucked up. Be careful.

That's what all the bums in Guatemala drink. The streets were littered with empty bottles of rubbing alcohol and these guys would just be passed out next to empty bottles of it. I'd stick to the regular stuff if I were you. Blindness ain't all that fun.
