so I’m riding up the lift with this middle aged couple. Woman has Head Super Shapes and husband has Enforcers. It’s 11:30 and it’s their first run. Typical resort goers.
So we’re riding up the main lift and they are building a new park right next to the main lift and the lady looks at the knuckles (no booters yet just knuckles) and goes “(husbands name) WHAT IN THE HELL ARE THEY DOING TO MY FAVORITE HILL!” Her husband goes maybe it’s something for the kids to play on. She starts ranting about how her kids are going to get hurt on that. Her husband tries to calm her down by saying it’s probably something for ski patrol to practice first aid on. At this point I’m losing it and I’m trying not to laugh. My little brother finally reassures them that it’s the new terrain park their putting in. Immediately horror strikes both of their faces. She starts squealing about how it’s her fav hill and they ruined it, which I guess is legit but it’s only the bottom half of the hill and most of the good pitch at the top. She looks at us and says “ but you guys already have a park over in the other area!” I was trying to keep her from losing her shit so I say well they’re building a bigger one so you can progress onto bigger features. She asks if they’re gonna take down the other park and I say no why would they do that. Her husband then yells at me “this is a skiers mountain and they shouldn’t waste good hills on you punks! You should be grateful for the park you have!” I’m trying desperately not to laugh. My brother, being young, says well maybe you should be grateful for the 53 other trails you have to ski. At this point Im dying laughing and they’re about to choke me out. The top of the lift comes and we go our separate ways.
two runs later an employee stops me and says a couple was complaining about you. They said you were being hostile and dangerous. I explained what happened and he was cool and got a good laugh out of it. Just thought I would share.
