skier 1 ' have you seen those new skis with the tips in the front and back yet'

skier 2 'no but I heard about those things'

Skier 1 ' yeah I don't see why they would want tips in the back...maybe they are try'n to copy those stupid snowboarders or something like that'

skier 2 'Yeah seems like kind of a stupid idea.'

We opened on Sat as scheduled, althought it was with minimal snow. The upper Mt. chair 7 and 4 has good coverage and there are 7 temporary jibs set up on sunrise. Chair 2 area has thin cover. Things will get better as mother nature graces us with more snow. snowmaking is almost complete on the superpipe and we should be moving snowmaking equipment over to the new park on Gunsmoke any day now.

 
update on the park and mountain? I just missed the June Mt. college pass deadline...fuck im such a procrastinator!

we're still lacking in snow. There's 8 rails on Sunrise..3 of them are new boxes for this year..a 36ft flat down flat, 32ft flat and a 32ft flat down. The new park on Gunsmoke will be our superpark replacing what was on Schatzi the last two seasons. It's got better pitch, it's longer, it's got a little bit of snowmaking(just for the last 2 or 3 jumps), It's got a stereo system and it's own chair lift. The guns are set and ready we just need it it get cold again.

JUNE UPDATE :

We've been getting snow so some of rails have been switched out for jumps. By this weekend we should have 5 or 6 jumps in the 25 - 40 ft range as well as the funboxes. Not sure about any new rails because it looks like a good storm cycle is coming our way it would bury them as soon as we put them up. We started farming snow in the Gunsmoke park but it will be at least a week maybe two before we build anything there. We've had alot of mechanical problems lately that have slowed us down now that we've got a little bit of snow to work with. The pipe is coming along.. still need a bit more snow but it looks like we will have some sub zero temps fri sat sun night.. that should do it for us with snowmaking. It will be 'jibtastic' ... finished pushing out the right wall today and it looks like no pipe you've seen before. It has a drop in 'TOWER' and couple step up/step downs where we'll put canted boxes and coping. There is still at least 400 ft of normal pipe wall in the middle for normal pipe runs. Jibberiffic.

Hey whats the down low on park as of 2/9. We're heading down there this weekend and just wanted to know whats been going on. It doesn't really say on their website. Thanks
