Well June closed but yesterday you could see the park crew building what appeared to be a 120+ foot hip for a world record air attempt. Tomorrow I've heard is the start of a photo shoot.
maybe this shit is top secret but I know its serious because I saw them building it. Its sponsored by redbull and the goal is to beat 39 feet of air off the hip.
yea redbull set it up, Jacob Wester and dumont are up there. So far they've seshed it for two days. I think they may be dont but I dont know. I was at mammoth yesterday and they had quite a few park shoot features up on the backside which is no longer accessible to the public.
Was around on saturday last weekend. The pile of snow then was massive and was still being worked on. I'm sure it's just epic now (and if its been getting hit)
its like 30 minutes from Mammoth... the shoot should be sick. my roommate works up there and said travis rice, shaun white, pat moor and a few other snowboarders have been filming. they have one of those 3D cameras, two helis and it looks crazy. I guess they're trying to go 60 ft high.... can't wait to see art of flight
Both numbers were mentioned, but yeah I agree that 60 seems ridiculous. Current record is 39 or something so 40 ft. isn't much bigger, and I feel like the hip in war was no where near 120 ft. big. I wouldn't be surprised if they got closer to 50 than 40.
Its the armada team, and jacob is the one whos going for the record. Although, could be anyone else. Just drove by the parking lot and it looks like they're taking a day off (probably because of wind.
