Jump on Tuckermans?

I'm thinking about going up to tuckermans, and building a jump. Has anyone done this? Also how much longer do you guys think the snow will last?

The ranger people don't recommend it. A torn ACL on a resort is one thing, but there it is easily a 6 man, half day effort to bring an injured person down from the floor of the bowl.

If you do build one, keep it small and out of the way. tbh If I went I would spend the day hiking chutes, not doing something you can do at your local resort thats probably still melting.

They already have one, it's called "The Headwall".

Driving all the way to MTW to build a booter below Tuck Ravine seems like traveling all the way to Thailand to catch herpes though. I mean... It's not exactly an urban skiing destination, and plenty of mountains around have enough snow for you to build a booter without hiking up to the lunch rocks.

Unless you just like putting in extraordinary effort to accomplish unremarkable things, in which case more power to you and I wish you luck.

OP unless you never plan on falling i wouldnt

ive seen some gnasty falls from very good skiers just riding, tucks

its scary as shit to watch people slide out on tuckermans

forget it if you lose ski(s) theres no stopping you...................

please post on timefortuck forums and see what they say.

Sunday river still has its landings in place. All you would have to do is build a lip. They still also have a half pipe. Contemplated making a lip for one of the landings.

I'm hoping to get up there this spring. Knee is feeling better so fuck it. I lived up there last year but I was hurt.

Never ridden it. I need some edges though. Maybe I'll bust out my dh

i was up there recently and at the bottom of the bowl there is a small natural one on the side that was kinda fun to do like a 5 on, its not big but its safe and fun

I really want to get up to Tuckermans next year, hoping I can with some buddies.

From what I've seen, it looks like it may be more fun just to hike chutes. Going there just to hit a jump seems like a waste of the experience imo. But it's just my opinion.
