so some people are trying to get the go ahead to build a new ski hill out near invermere... Jumbo mountain resort... in jumbo valley. It will have 5925 acres of skiable terrain and 20 to 23 lifts if they are allowed to go ahead with it. Along with 600 metres vertical of summer skiing... It is supposed to take 20 years to build.

Out near invermere or some shit like that. In BC... it will also have the longest runs in NA.

its fucken insane. if anyones been out there before this will be the BEST place to ski hands down. oh and if revelstoke goes through that place will be super sick. yeah for super resorts.

totally pointless, but awesome nonetheless. and it will be the biggest resort on the continent as far as vert, i hear.

i hope they dont make a mega resort out of it for two reasons

1. It would put Panorama out of buisness

2. Jumbo is a beautiful place and the home to many animals including many of which are endangered species. Plus its fuckin sic BC skiin.

In conclusion KEEP JUMBO WILD

If it does happen, it won't be starting for years and years. There is still so much the people have to go through to get it OK'd by the region and cities surrounding it.

It would be a sweet mountain, but the thing is, its in the middle of nowhere. Kicking Horse is a sweet mountain, but its still 3 hours from the closest International Airport. For Jumbo, it would be more of the same. The market doesn't exist for a Huge resort in that region, at least not yet.

West is Best.
 
veteran theyve passed federal and provincal legislation on jumbo all they have to do if get a final say from surrounding area and if this happens building can expect to commence by the summer of 2006. fuck all the hippies. the resort is on a glacier, the actual proposed village is on old clear cut mining terrain. environment canada said the project is okay. the resort will be the biggest resort in the world by sheer acreage and vert. fuck whistler. by the way kicking horse is 2 and bit hours from calgary,I manage to make it up there all the time. its not to far away.

I read in SKIING magazine that they did get the green light for the project and have to go through some more red tape before the can break ground.

fuck panorama they suck ass so if they go out of business who cares. and fuck the hippies the animals will be fine. I hate how a bunch of fags who think they know it all want to keep jumbo wild and most of them don't know a single thing about the wilderness and haven't been out on more than a day hike. It's all been logged anyway for fucks sake.

its gunna be rad....but it will put panorama and probably rk heli skiing out of buisness. its something like 80 percent of its terrain. It will be all year round skiing.

If they do build it than they better be really efficient... i don't wanna see them do that but than have shitty lifts or some shit cuz than it's just a waste. And they better have good rules and not all gay groomed shit like panorama... plus if they build it, panorama may quit sucking so much.

I went heliskiing in that are 2 weeks ago, thats all people are talkin bout... but if the terrain is half as nice as wat i skied it will be killer.

I don't think the heli skiing is part of the issue. They have helecopters they can go somewhere else. FLY BITCHES. Plus the heli skiing market isn't exactly the majority of the skiing population, so obviously thats my main point.
