Jskis vs. On3p

Im trying to get a new pair of skis this year and im torn between filthy riches and all plays or whip its. Im 5'9" 150 and am trying to really send it this year in the park. i got backies down and comfortable on rails. I also ski the rest of the mountain hard and fast when im not in the park. Ive skied 3 years on K2 recoils 169 (all mtn) and want something more playful and am torn between these skis because i like the specs of the filthy riches but all the Jski reviews and styles are so postive so im wondering how park specific the filthy riches are and how they handle the rest of the mountain? and how awesome are Jskis comparatively to them? Also should i grab a 171 or jump to a 178

171 is probably a little too small and 178 is probably a little too big. That just comes down to if you like a longer ski or a shorter ski.

As for the difference, I mean its personal preference. Both good skis but if price isnt an issue for you id definitely go for the filthys. If you ski the rest of the mountain a lot, Id also consider the kartel 98s. Still very doable in the park but will be a little more stable on groomers and off piste and of course will do much better than Filthys in fresh snow.

Yeah i would put in another vote for kartel 98s. However, jskis allplays are very fun skis too

I'd jump to a 178. If i remember correctly K2's measure a little short and you're probably going to get heavier and stronger. Im 5'7", 165lbs and would hate something smaller than a 175.

As per which ski, I haven't been on either so no opinion.

They're both good skis, filthys are stiffer and J's are super soft.

If you were to J's I'd go with the 178 for sure, I was about the same size as you when I was riding them. maybe an inch or two taller.

I have the J skis whip-it and the Kartel 98. The reviews on the J Skis website are only positive because the bad reviews don't make it on the site. Never trust reviews that are all perfect 5-stars. They are not perfect skis and there is no way they should have 100% satisfaction.

That sounded harsh. J skis are great skis and they are better than most brands. I did 60ish days on them last year and just minor chipping. They started to feel pretty soft towards the end of the season. They are measured post-press, so the 178's ride at about 175CM. If you choose JSkis, buy the 178CM no doubt.

I haven't had the chance to ride my ON3P's yet, but I have a gut feeling that I am going to like them better than J Skis.

yeah the 178's felt a little short on me. They're super soft which i mean isn't a bad thing if that's what you dig. All in all a pretty fun ski, agreed that they aren't perfect though and jesus they come so fuckin sharp
