Jskis is run by tacky kooks

[tag=209275]@J_skis[/tag] this is some really tacky shit. Ya'll really not bright enough to find a better way to sell skis? Not denying Jason is a pretty OG dude, but maybe ease up on the lame ass marketing. Using serious issues to advertise a giveaway is pretty fuckin stupid. Maybe I ain't right to judge ya company by the people who buy your skis, but the only dude I've ever met who had a pair of Js was some dickhead BYU-I kid who kept sexually harassing my coworker. Fuckin sort yourselves out.

Attemping gen z level humor at the expense of tough adult subjects is a real no go. Need some scum core guys to set em straight.

why are we upset at this pic again? I don't even know what it's referencing.

referencing "my body my choice" which refers to the recent laws against abortion (and just the general consensus of it), the my body my choice is pretty self explanatory, but people have generated that to show their support for the fact that women should be allowed to choose to abort a pregnancy if they wish to (and they fucking should). j skis is taking that and using it as marketing but its in pretty shitty taste in my opinion, its a very sensitive issue right now and to use to market skis (that really are pretty vanilla in my opinion) is pretty sus. do better guys

Theyre basically leveraging the whole Pro Choice thing into a cheesy marketing campaign and promotion where the winner can choose any ski on the market and Jskis will buy it for them...

But essentially its a bit tone-deaf when womens rights are currently being gutted by shithole governments like in texas.

It’s really tone deaf. Women’s rights need to be supported and uplifted not turned in to a shit marketing attempt

I thought that saying was co-opted by anti-vaxers. At least thats why I thought when I saw that pic.

Was that what the sign was about pre-photoshop?

yeah same. I can see people making a stink about that stuff at a ski area, abortion rights protesting would be kinda weird at a ski area.

J skis has always been pretty cringe imo. Wack marketing/graphics, design isn’t appealing, not a fan of the skiers they sponsor. Generally feel they are the jerrys of the indie brands. Trying to think of a comparable brand in another space… DC shoes maybe?

Also sorry for the double post but I think this is actually making light of anti vaxxers which I don’t have a problem with. Unrelated but I think it’s hilarious how they’ve adopted all the pro choice lingo/ arguments but would never actually be pro choice when it comes to abortion.

No idea what the banner originally was but the anti mask people have been using the my body my choice the last year at protests.

J skis marketing is definitely a bit wack. I’ve got some allplays and they are pretty solid skis but I’m not sure if I would buy them again. I think they have a new social media/marketing person and I’m not a fan of the direction they are going. I feel like people are kinda over reacting to this situation tho. Seemed more like a failed joke than anything

I don’t know but regardless they erased whatever was on there and wrote their dumb version. It’s a play on the movement but I don’t know if the picture is necessarily from a protest or anything

I’m a pro choice republican and jskis needs to keep politics the fuck out of skiing. Jskis is the “fun” brand that’s known for being funny and always having a good time. This though, just doesn’t look good. I think we force politics into everythingggg nowadays and it’s honestly exhausting. Like skiing is an escape from stress and tough stuff. No need to bring that to the sport

I'm with ya there. It seems that everywhere ya look, everything is politicized. Yes, there's important shit happening, but I'm pretty sure that everyone knows whats going on. I don't think anyone wants to be bombarded with this shit 24/7, cause it really is exhausting. Every meme/article/blog post/school project/dog food company is dropping political content. Some stuff makes more sense, like ski companies promoting climate activism (Can't fuckin ski if there's no fuckin snow), but even still, nobody stops to think what that it does to one's mental health, to be constantly told that the world is ending. People are getting burnt out and cynical. And that's scary cause burnt out cynical people don't give a shit about what's happening in the world. Basically, we need to care less about politics to care more.

What does that mean for you? like pro-choice to open carry? pro-choice to project religious beliefs? pro-choice not get the vaccine? I feel like a lot of conservatives these days seem to use the same line of pro-choice to defend whatever agenda theyre pushing for at any one point..

But if you are indeed a womens-choice republican then at least we can shake hands on that one!

Pretty agro. I don’t identify with any political party, but the judgmental vibe you just put off is a bit wild.

It’s fine for people to have different views.

Whenever someone claims to be a Republican do you have to throw a test at them?

We used to have certain social standards like to not bring up politics when you first meet someone / not at the dinner table. Allowed us to connect more and see everyone as people.

Now people try to shove them down each others throats everywhere. Skiing / sports is a nice place to escape from that and connect with people on a human basis again.

Seems like some whack a doodles want to ruin that too though.

Jesus fucking christ when did NS become a bunch of PC pussies. It's a play on words. Are y'all REALLY that offended? Is anyone really truly offended by this? Or are we just jumping on them because "yay I get to be included in something by pointing out political incorrectness"?

To add to my above post, y'all can take this social justice warrior cancel culture bullshit and shove it right up your butt.

Where was the outrage when they ran the same exact giveaway, with the same exact name last year? It’s not like abortion hasn’t been a hot button issue for many years now or anything…

Some of the marketing is cringe. Some of the marketing is genius. They sell a fuck pile of skis though so something is working. They also make great skis.

It doesn’t surprise me at all that NS is defending that shitty Netflix special.

Once one gets over the " group love' of Chappelle, his shit gets old fast...or one graduates HS.

J skis has been running on this type of platform since forever. They sold the “make skiing great again” hat for forever. This is nothing new for them.

I mostly just hate how people put their skis online for $800+ and say “limited edition” ?

This is neither political nor cringe nor in bad taste. if you are triggered by this and can't get a tiny lol out of it, then you are incapable of separating whatever personal political thing is on top of your mind from whatever you are currently looking at, and you should work on that.

the phrase "my body my choice" is not uniquely used by womens rights activists these days, its also recently been co-opted by anti-vaxxers, which is pretty damn hilarious in its own right. j skis makes really good skis and has pretty darn good marketing too for how little they actually do. this ad is a bit of a miss, but its not in bad taste, you're just being kind of soft.

go to REI and cop some QST 105s if you want to protest

... but I prolly missed your point, that's on me...

Idk if I’d call J skis great…..

The all play was a blast to ski, honestly wish I would've kept mine.

Yeah I mean they’re not awful skis but in their respective categories there’s way better options for the money IMO. Plus the whole “limited edition” thing is kinda cringe marketing to me. Idk

the majority of people who buy skis are rich, white, god fearing citizens

this seems like clever, effective marketing for that demographic

Yeah, it was a pretty “what the actual fuck” of a marketing campaign. I honestly thought it was a shitty meme at first?

To be fair, we are all in here talking about JSkis.
