Jskis AllPlay... nail in the coffin.

So I know we've all seen 1000x "reviews" on J skis. I feel most come from impulse right out of the box, so what I have done is skied 36 days till I have made this post.

First off, I skied one day on my first pair and had a lamination separation issue under the binding. I almost did not want to mention this because the way Jason handled this issue was the best in the business. Within 12 hours of the email, Jason called my phone while I was blazing with the boys. He was super apologetic and wanted to get to the root of the issue. He sent me a brand new pair of twigs within the week with a return to send the defective back fo free.

REVIEW:

As mentioned above I have around 36 days on these J's and feel the same way I did when I went first day with them. Absolutely in love. Super playful and extremely fun. Exactly what I was looking for in a ski. They are soft but I never feel as if I am going to flex through them. Huge rail guy, never really pushing them too hard on jumps over 45ft.

I've included a bunch of pics with this review of what my skis look like visually, at this time they perform exactly how they did the day out of the box. BY FAR THE BEST CARVING I'VE FELT ON A "PARK" SKI. Edge to edge response on a 96mm width ski is amazing. Smile hits me ear to ear every time my body locks into this Look14 & J allplay combo.

ISSUES:

On my dominate foot (right) they're are three small edge cracks on my peddling edge. I don't in any way blame construction for this issue, just comes with the territory of disaster-ing rails.

Besides the skis another issue i've encountered with my bindings (images included) the base of my non-dominate foot (left) has cracked, compromising the brake a little but nothing un-useable.

CONCLUSION:

9/10 overall

10/10 in customer satisfaction

8/10 construction (no company can make an indestructible ski for $$$ reasons)

10/10 on playfullness

Would I recommend? Yes. To everyone and their fathers, Jason is making IMO the best skis offered to the market. The "microbrew" formula he is using is the only thing that is pushing our sport past the "wall st." owned company formula. It was extremely refreshing to be in contact with someone who is in love with this industry the way we are.

thank you,

Sam Holcomb

hmu with any questions.

I didn't have to see the Bernie sticker, I could tell as soon as he referenced wall street lol.

I re-read my post and immediately knew I was in for a chirp haha. What I was trying to say is small companies (J, ON3P, HG, ect.) are the only companies trying to push the sport further then what it is today. The larger companies don't worry about the community or quality and construction because they dont have too, they are already selling enough to stay in the green.

I completely get what you're saying man, I've been looking into the smaller name skis including J Skis for a while as I need to pick up a pair for college. After reading this review these skis have definitely been bumped up on my list. Nice job

maybe a stupid question but when uou referenced your right/pedaling foot do you always put your skis on the same foot?

I was going to say the same thing. Seems to be super honest and very informational.

Seems like he's having a lot of QC issues. I mean its great that he can cover it personally, but What gives with all the delam its not like he's new to building skis. Just curious, not hating.

Nahh not stupid at all, Yes I do. I'm going to switch them up to work the other edge for the rest of the season.

Great point. From what I've concluded I just feel since these skis are produced on such a low quantity we are much more aware of the few duds that get through.

Basically when you have 5 QC issues in 100 skis that's 5% of the skis. When there is say 50 QC issues in a run of 3000 skis (line chronic for example) that's only 1.6%. I hope I was able to explain my thought well enough.

Let me also correct I said 96mm underfoot, I meant to say 98mm. I love being on a wider ski imo; I'll never go back to anything smaller.

just checkin, i just switch them up every time i ride rather than destroying one edge then switching them up

Good post. I really am enjoying my allplays as well. Where did you have yours mounted ? I put mine at true center and am happy there, but always curious as to how the ski would feel at reccomended

I've had mine for a couple of seasons now and I use them as my only ski at the moment. I like rails and smaller to medium jumps otherwise I just like to ski around finding fresh snow or race down groomers. Durability-wise I still have no edge cracks which is quite remarkable as they have seen decent rail usage over 2 seasons.

I agree with the blister review that the tail could be a bit stiffer but they are really fun to ski around the mountain as they are. I was on armada ar7s before and the allplay is more fun and better for everything except maybe the biggest jumps in the park.

Wrong. Just so wrong. Please educate yourself instead of making such ignorant, blatantly untrue and unfair accusations.

You do know it's okay to praise J skis without bashing all bigger companies, right? Like, it's okay to like J skis just to like J skis, you don't have to also hate larger corporations. Such a Bernie Sanders fanboy it hurts.

I have my skis at true center and I am extremely happy as well. I already love the carving performance now but I could only image the ski would ride even better at the recommended 4cm back

My brother delamed in about a week of skiing.. sent them back and got a refund. Construction durability was garbage IMO. Jason said it was a "lemon" oh well

I hav a pair of Whipits and just like any other park ski you gotta keep switching your skis from foot to foot. I learned this the hard way, I always out my skis on the same feet as a result the edge on the leading foot was ground away and the base started to pop up over the edge. The edge fell out and the base ripped off and I started to grind on the side wall of the ski. I contacted Jason and he sent me a new pair even tho it clearly wasn't a warranty issue. Im sure if i sent the same email to any other company they would heave told me that its not warranty and that they aren't gonna send me a new pair. Jason contacted me back asking for my address.

Customer Satasfaction: 10/10 Thanks J

Overall: 10/10 Would recommend and buy again!
