Yo what do you think of the Joystick Spicolli's? I asked for them for Christmas and i found them in the closet...lol

why the fuck would you waste your money on nice poles. Rental poles do the trick. In case you fucking idiots didnt realize this, the jacket you wear, the doo rag out your ass, and the poles you rock dont make you a better skier.

He's not wasting HIS money, it's a christmas present you fools. I asked for composite poles, but my parents said they get stolen too much. bah, whatever.

i dont get why people care so much about how people spend their money. some people spend 100+ dollars on fucking shoes, thousands of dolars on jewlrey, and i know sooo many people who blow all their money on drugs and shit which is about the biggest waste of money possible, but still i dont mind its their money.

if i wanna get joysticks and some cool jackets and shit and you dont think its cool thats your problem.

anthony boronowski is the fuckin worst skier ever! he looks like an emo fag from flock of seagulls who rents out his uturus to inner city immagrants who poop in it, go die fag boy

are u kidding me? good poles=5 dollars at ski swap/salvo. new scott poles are only like 50, joystick are like what 70? Waste of money? Yes.

Yo- Good poles.. Didn't pay for mine, but still I would if i had to..

Landed on them many-o-times and yet to bend or break.. They might be scratched a bit thoguh..

For the pepes that dont like them- "Shut up and steal your rental poles" who cares...

You will like them, plus its a sick company/idea/future for skiing...

composite poles arent worth it. instead of bending the snap, so you cant us3e them at all instead of using a bent pole.

but i spent 70 dollars on some better pols this year and they havent bent at all. usually by this time it looks like im using some kind of crazy racer poles.

i dont even think the joysticks look that cool. i mean checkerboard. woohoo. ive seen a whole bunch of them bent too.

god damn. seriosuly, play it again sports, or some other super discount place. i had poles from there, they were 5 bucks new, were fairly light, had comfy grips, and lasted 4 years! they were bent to shit before they broke, but they were also only 5 bucks. its all about cheap poles. if you want cool graphics, get out some spray paint and hit it up. there is ZERO reason to spend money on expensive poles in this sport. if you want to, feel free. i dont care. but it is a waste of cash which could be put to use much more constructively in other areas.

Yeah, poles are really the most trivial part of skiing. There is no need to go out and buy the "in" poles. I had a pair of yamaha, yes yamaha poles that my dad used in college and they were the best poles I ever used. Solid as fuck.

serioulsy who the fuck cares, its like youre jealous that you aren't getting joysticks. why do you have to bash what pepoole are excited about. if i had a dick i'd tell you fucks to suck it.

This is copied and pasted from an old thread, and I'm going to keep on copying and pasting it until you all shut the fuck up.

"I took the time to type this out, so the last thing I want to hear is people bitching about it being too much reading. Harness your ADD for a few minutes and give it a go.

All this... core this, core that, fuck core, fuck you, new jack bullshit? Stop your fragmented bickering for one fucking second. I want to know who claimed Joystick was so core in the first place. It sure wasn't Anthony. All this "we're so core" song and dance is definitely not something that has been paraded out from the Joystick camp. It's your assumptions talking ok? Next, I want to know why everyone assumes/claims/thinks the poles are so core and freeski specific. A freeski specific pole? Fuck outta here. There are only so many ways you can improve a pole, and a good pole is a good pole, no matter what kind of skiing you're doing. All this Joystick Poles are freeski specific is a truckload of horseshit, it's just another example of all you snotbags assuming something that Anthony has never claimed. Same goes for this alleged business of niche marketing ploys. Saying someone has fallen for a marketing scheme by buying a Joystick pole is completely garbage. What marketing has Anthony engaged in? Word of mouth? A link to his website? The closest he has come to a traditional marketing scheme is the commercial that's now on the site, and in the extras of some of the movies this year. Which coincidentally has sweet fuck all to do with ski poles. It's something that anyone, no matter how "core", can appreciate. Some of you might have thought, "American Beauty, Cool!" While others like myself might have thought, "Hemingway, Cool!" It's something that can appeal to many different of people. When you guys find this "buy my freeski specific core poles because they're so stylishly hot right now and you're gay" marketing scheme, fucking let me know. All this "marketing to a specific niche" crap you come up with is just ludicrous. Stop being so handicapped for one second and think... If you run a business, why would you limit your target market like that? In your self-centered little world, did it ever occur to you that he might want to sell poles to other people too? People just stoked on skiiing? That's what it all cooks down to after all. All this self importance in newschool skiing makes me shakemy head. Wake up and realize we're not nearly as important as we like to think we are. If we want to be relevant, independant, and self supporting we have some hard work ahead, and we need to support each other. More on that in a bit.

You bitch about the price, but are you ignorant, or do you just not care? If you don't give a shit about your poles and what they're made of that's fine. Chalk it up to personal preference. You never spend more than $20 dollars on poles because they always break? Fine. Did it ever occur to you that to an extent it might be a self perpetuating cycle? You buy shitty poles, they break easily, the shittier they are the more you break. Now that's not an entirely sound argument, but it's possibly a part of the problem, and something you could consider. You probably spend as much on food in two days at the mountain, as you claim to spend on poles in an entire year. Here's an idea, stop buying 8 dollar slices of pizza and pack a fucking lunch. Then take the money you save and help all the broke fuckers in this industry out. Saying there is no difference between your rental poles and a Joystick pole is foolish. Stronger and lighter materials in the shaft are just two of the things you could take into consideration. Bitch all you want about the price, but know that a similar quality set of poles from anyone else is going to cost you just as much, if not more.

This isn't even about fictional hyper core kids criticizing people for not supporting Joystick. This is slefish cuntrags criticizing others for supporting Joystick. If there is a unique company like Joystick , that supports skiing and our culture, you can't criticize people for supporting it. I work hard for my money, and if I'm going to spend it I like to support people I believe in, and companies I believe benefit us. When I buy a pair of Joysticks, the money goes to Anthony, who then puts the money back into Joystick, supports the athletes, the videos, the companies, the websties, and our part of skiing as a whole. The money goes back into our sector, and helps us. If I spend the same amount of money on a pair of Leki's, where does the money go? Nordic walking poles? Maybe into race and cross country sponsorship, supporting that section of skiing. The fact of the matter is that NOT ONE company would exist without your dollars. From Salomon, all the way down to Siver, it's your dollars. You put your money into them, and they put it into things they support. If you freeski, why would you pour your hard earned dollars into mogul comps and trendy soccer mom skis? Like the fuckign Metron. Don't even get me started there. Why not keep the money in our industry? Supporting the athletes, shops, videos, and companies that dedicate their existence to freeskiing truely benefits US. We need to support freeskiing, because the more dollars stay in this industry, the more it grows, the more it's able to evolve and operate independantly. Then we have even more power to support and grow each other. This once again raises the issue of self-perpetuating cycles, but in this context, the cycle promotes GROWTH. Then maybe your favorite pro will get payed what he really deserves, then he can afford to eat, travel, film a segment, etc... Then maybe you buy the video, support the filmmaker, buy the skis, supporting them. I can come up with examples all day, the point that I cannot emphasize enough is that YOUR MONEY DOES MATTER. It doesn't just go to Anthony if you buy a pole, or Johnny if you buy a movie, or Mike if you buy some Siver, it disperses itself throughout the industry supporting everyone. Even this website. Those ads on the right are your dollars. Without them you wouldn't be able to sit here and talk shit all day. Everyone benefits. Being selfish is going to get us anywhere. Acting like children, fighting over slices or the proverbial pie, rather than growing the pie hurts us all." (This next bit is related to the old thread but I'm leaving it in here.)

"What set this whole discussion off was the topic of his new website. Now like it or not, you have to give Anthony credit for thinking differently. I beleive it's admirable that he cares enough to give a part of himself to this, taking things that inspire him and passing them along, possibly inspiring someone else out there. Would you rather have just another company website? We've seen them all before a million times. News, Team, Product, Contest, blah blah snore next. Anthony started making poles for many more reasons than I would care to assume. I guess nobody skis forever, so one day hopefully it will give him a steady source of income. It's a creative outlet for him, it's an opportunity to create change in an industry that at times badly needs it, it's a way to support his friends, inspire kids out there, and create something new that takes our industry in a positive direction. In conclusion I'm going to use an extremely fitting, yet still hackenyed point.

Joystick supports US, and if someone is going to support me, I feel I should support them, benefiting us all.

^ why would you post that bullshit here. it isn't about whatever the fuck you say it is. it isn't about 'doing something different', or 'taking the sport in the right direction' or whatever you believe. its a pole company. there are enough poles around right now. if every pole producing factory in the world stopped producing poles right now (including the 'joystick factory' which i'm sure doesn't exist) there would be no pole shortage. there are poles everywhere, in ski swaps, used sports goods and rental shops, in the re-use it center... no one needs to waste more energy and money on making new ski poles. this is the worst attempt to draw money out of rich families whose children have come to expect poles priced at C $91.19 to be sitting under the tree.

please take part in the holiday tradition that brings all of us skiers together, pole recycling.

and give the other $86.19 to the next homeless kid that asks you for change. show him that love heals, for real, even when it isn't attached to silly niche-marketing campaigns directed at the tears of every eleventeen year old skier.

yes, there were some good points in there. but at the same time, kids should not, in any way feel that they need to, or should feel guilty for not supporting companies. by not supporting companies, you are expressing your ideas of the product. its called dollar votes, and it pretty much determines what is produced and sold.

i for one, think joystick poles are pretty pointless. its a ski pole. why yes, construction quality goes up with price, but when you break it down, its a tube of aluminum. thats it.and besides, most cheap poles are strong as shit. rental poles are heavy as hell, but just about unbreakable.

and again, the only thing that makes the joystick pole any better than a competitive pole from other manufacturers, is the image associated with it.

the bottom line, is most of us who dont have mommy and dady buy are shit, are poor. or at the very least, we budget our funds to make the best use of them. buying a 60 dollar pole is stupid. and besides, ive only broke one pair of poles in my intire life, and have only had 2 pairs. i see ZERO reason to spend my money on something that is totally un needed.

I definately agree with that quote, i just think no one has the balls to say that. I am sure lots of people think that way, Anthony sais there core and cool so does the whole skiing community.

i got them for christmas but i dont think that i would of ever bought them myself and i only got them for 50 while the armada poles are like 80 thats a waste of money

i dont hink it really matters, there are mor expensive poles, and less expensive ones. a pole's a pole

my brother got them and they're cool and all, but 40 bucks is wayyy too much. i got my poles for free, curtosey of the rental shop.

i got some free poles from a dude i know over at little ski area in CT called Catamount. He hooked me up with used poles and we cut them in hlaf and inserted wooden dowels. that was 3 years ago annd aside from a few minor dents and dings they are exactly the same as when i got them. the wood is fairly light (i dont know what kind of wood) and the cuts are sealed.

entire project: $3

paint to put some style and ceativity on the skis: $2.70

cool poles that won't break any time soon: DEFINITLY NOT SIXTY FUCKING DOLLARS

They make me a better looking skier, and in my opinion cool equipment makes you more confident and inturn a better skier.

sry didnt finnish that...this guy got them for christmas so shut the fuck up about the price and how theyre not worth it, he doesnt give a fuck, he already has them

bottom line...theyre good poles and you'll like them alot

I'm poor as shit. I buy all my own stuff. I will continue to give the skiing-related portion of what little money I have to budget to companies I care about. You have this all wrong. I know a bunch of people who have spicollis. Not a single one of them is rich, everyone has to just barely scrape by. Fuck, I'm a university student. Rich kids aren't the ones (at least not the ones I know) who support companies like Joystick. We're just people who want to pay out in a direction we see as beneficial to the sport, and get a nice product in return. All this angry vengeful "EXPENSIVE POLES ARE RETARDED STEAL RENTAL POLES LIKE ME BECAUSE I'M HARDKORE XXTREME BITCHES" is what's stupid... look, if you don't see a need to buy joysticks, that's fine. To each his own. Enjoy your rental poles, I hope they work out. But quit bringing other people down because they see things a different way. No reason to buy expensive poles? How about there's no reason for you to criticize people for buying what they want. It's not your fucking money, I earned it, I think I should be able to spend it how I like.

My personal opinion is that buying spicollis was a worthwhile investment that only required me to save some lunch money and forego seeing a couple movies. I can live with that. I'm glad I bought them. And if they do break I'll buy another pair without even having to think twice about it. But all they have right now is some scratches. So it might be a while. Funny... I broke/bent to shit 4 pairs of poles in the season and a half before I got these things last Jan... yet aside from some scrapes, they might as well be brand new. Huh.

I work my ass off for my ski shit, and my joysticks were an EXCELLENT investment.

Suck my dick east coast park rats, you're all morons.

buy what you want. your money. dont hate on people for buying expensive shit its there money. not yours. spend your money how you want let others do the same and dont bitc about it. shut the fuck up now. please

ur a queer. people were talkin bout the cost of poles, im simply sayin that , that was the cheapest way. and im guessin u have poles that go to ur chest and that u cant make a turn
