Joysticks And Griffons ?

So, I have beat up my old ski quite bad and have look at a bunch of new equipment. I am 5 10 weight about 150 and ski mostly park. I live in the EAST COAST so lots of ice and gnar. I would say i'm an Advanced all mtn skier and medium park skier. As I said I probably will be skier 70 /30 park all mountain.

The skis that I would like to purchase are te Joysticks with griffon bindings, I am wondering opinions on if they are good skis and if I will have any regrets after 20 days of skiing on them.

Well they are symmetrical, so they really are not going to be great for all mountain. Im sure they would be a really fun park ski, b/c they are light, soft and have an even swing weight, but they also have an extruded base, which is slower and less durable than a sintered. If you are looking for a price point ski to just dabble around in the park in, they are a good call, but if you want a little more all mountain performance, there are better options.

Faction Silas would be what I would recommend. 92 waist, mid flex, little bit of tip and tail rocker, these are very playful in the park, but can still rip variable conditions on the hill. Also the K2 Recoil (a little stiffer) and the Volkl Kink (bunch of people at my local shop can't get enough of this ski).

Oh thanks for the great info. I was under the impressing that with the slower bases they became more durable, but its a lose lose?

Yeah the only thing extruded based have going for them is that they are cheap. If you can avoid them, it is recommended.
