JOV Triple almost Quad Cork

on my profile I jokingly put switch quad cork 2160 for my best trick, but shit like that is actually going to start happening. dang.

Damn, McCraes was stomped as fuck.

Didnt Jon say that if he did not land a triple he was going to stop jumping?

haha imagine being that guy, when you're sitting on the chairlift and some kid asks you what your best trick is...

kid: hey what's your best trick?

Guy: hmm, I'd say probably like a triple cork 1800 or something...

am i the only one truly shocked that McRae threw at triple, like the kid is nasty but i didn't think he ever threw doubles

He threw a sw dub 12 and rightside dub flat 9 last September at the One Hit Wonder event in Australia but I don’t think he’s had them for a super long time (because he’s so young).

Dubs have been thrown for years already and with a good kicker it looks like the transition to one more flip isn't that hard.

Did you really round that rotation to a quad cork from tripple? Cause it wasn't even close to going quad, sickest triple yet though.

waaaaah. some of you guys are so cute, getting bent out of shape about what some skiers are doing. no one's forcing you to watch or do the same stuff..

this coming from someone who is on the fence about triples

I'd love to know who you are member number 149,000 how long have you been doing this kind of skiing? Of course im on the fence about triples. its fucking whack. I've been in skiing way to long to see it go down this route. We went from being different from racing, Bumps, and Aerials, to the same thing, an Olympic Humping sport. You call this Progression, i call it a way to win money In the olympics. you might not agree, but thats what i think. And that triple was definitely so terrible looking.

You're pretty cute calling out someone that you probably idolize. Keep killin it brownskinterror, you're one of the few reasons why I still ski.

i thought it looked funny the first time i saw it too, he just gets gnarly inverted for a while on the third cork. really sick

and i dont see why people have be so worried about the sport when people who do competitive slopestyle/pipe are progressing that side of the sport

freeride tours, big mountain shots, and reallly stylie edits are going strong, being supported, and there are always going to be people ready to watch all of it. we should feel lucky that get to enjoy seeing all of it

You might be the most argumentative person on NS....every post of yours includes a snarky twisting of the other person's words that serves no purpose but to be mean. What are you so damn angry about?
Also, if you need "reasons" to still ski, and those reasons have anything to do with what other people want to do with skis attached to their feet, well, I'm sorry for you.
Moving on...
I really don't understand this macro(?) approach to skiing. Yes, we're all a part of "ski culture" or the "ski community". However, we're not at all interdependent. All this nonsense about the "direction" of skiing is just that—nonsense. What .01% of the upper echelon of skiers are doing doesn't in anyway reflect, restrict, or prohibit what we as individual skiers get to do when we get off of a chairlift. If you think triples are corny, aerials, ugly, etc....well, don't do them and don't seek out footage of them. If you're pursuing a career in skiing and you're raw that you won't be successful without conforming to what's happening, find an alternative route to success. Whether it be innovating new tricks that don't involve gymnastics, or filming and presenting your skiing in a fresh way, those talented and motivated enough will thrive regardless if they ever ride out a gross muted triple cork or not.
There's so much fear being perpetuated by influential people about a PARTICULAR sort of progression; that being the march to the Olympics and more spinnyflippys. Triple corks/flips are not going to usher in the ski armageddon....it's just not going to happen. There's far too many people in love with the sort of skiing that takes place away from cameras and 22ft. ice walls that all this hyperbole about skiing as we know it coming to an end when sponsors start dropping anyone who doesn't have a pipe dub is bullshit. This same argument has been raging on since day one. The only difference it a few hundred degrees of rotation.

i don't even remember what we argued about last time, i chose his to quote because he called it "one of the gayest airs ever" or whatever. you can like it or dislike it, but no one's forcing you to watch it, like it, do it, or even be involved with it.

brownskinterror, like you said, we disagree and that's fine. just saying that being so angry about it is retarded. and as if it matters, ive been on here since 2001.. so i watched your videos when your tricks weren't smooth and perfect either.. but things change and tricks that at one point we think have to be hucked and ugly get refined and thrown really well. i mean, try to tell me there still hasn't been a double cork youve thought was smooth and sick looking. who's to say that riders who are good enough and interested in improving triple corks til theyre stomping them smoothly over enormous jumps are gay? funny how people cry aerials, then try to dictate how other people should be progressing their skiing

and thomasjefferson i'm a little old to be idolizing a kid who's younger than me and skis a lot so excuse me if i say something when someone gets bent out of shape cause people arent skiing how they want them to. it was the dude's first triple cork 18, lay off him if it wasn't super steezy just yet..

Argumentative, yes. Snarky twisting, no. It serves no purpose if you don't understand the logic behind it. Let me shine this on you casual, what are you so damn angry about that you would respond to me? I'm sorry you can't accept the way I appreciate skiing, I'm certain you've got reasons of your own that I'd be more than willing to point out flaws in too.
