Jossi dumps oakley outerwear

Many of you are aware that TJ Schiller left Orage and has been representing the brand since earlier this fall. However, 2010 marks the acquisition of yet another athlete, the ever so stylish and talented: Jossi Wells. With Nike 6.0 as Jossi's new outerwear sponsor, he has officially left Oakley Outerwear to embrace the new brand.

Let's hope 6.0 does well in the skiing outwear market and doesn't have to update their image/change their name to Nike 7.0 in the coming years.POSTED BY BISHOP AT 11:10 PM 0 COMMENTS

Personally I'm stoked on 6.0 getting into skiing.
a) Nike makes a good product, they just do.
b) The snowboarding boots look just like dunks, and are therefore awesome. I bet if they get deep into skiing they will make ski boots. These ski boots will probably be dope.

This sucks, in my opinion. I hate big corporations taking over a sport. Look at Burton. They've taken over snowboarding and mass produce in China to make more money. Their bindings started coming out as crap because they try tomake things cheaper. I am not saying Nike will put out crap, but I hate how they take over every sport. A decade ago, people would have laughed at Nike soccer cleats, now they are one of the biggest names.

Some will argue that more money into our sport will make it better. My argument is: what more do you want out of the sport? There are already huge events on big stages and now tons of people buy twin tips and wear brightly colored and cleverly designed outerwear. I refuse to buy anything from Nike - a brand that has NO roots in skiing, except for skiers that want to buy throwback basketball shoes. I think Saga is the most overrated company, but I respect the brand because it was started by skiers for skiers. Nike just has a bunch of guys that make a few million a year each sitting in a board room saying "how can we expand?" and skiing was one of the options they chose to pursue.

I am sure many will disagree. Just my opinion though.

/sneaky investigation work.

My point is that Nike is unlike any other sports oriented corporation in the world...they are simply huge.

As far as the OP goes, I don't mind that Jossi left for Nike. Yeah, sure, money talks - but he's creating a career for himself. Too often we hear stories of "struggling skiers" working all summer to ski all winter. I say good for Jossi.

thats cool.

a true sign that skiing has hit the mainstream is when financial analysts at a huge multinational corporation determine that it would be profitable to enter a market in which they have no history, suck the soul from the sport, and make an extra buck for investors. im sure they are really interested in developing the sport seeing as how they've ignored it for the 45 years they've been around.

So sick. Always been a big fan of jossi and this is a good deal for him. is he only dropping oakley outerwear? or goggles too.

I can't wait to see the 6.0 outerwear. Almost everything nike makes is generally sick. so stoked to see what happens in the next year or two.

yea keep nike out of the sport. give your money to the little guys. who cares if they make good shit. they are rich enough to move their entire manufacturing to the usa creating hundreds of thousands of jobs for americans, but they dont.

just like walmart. for now they can afford to offer the cheapest shit on the planet, but just wait, they are going to put everyone else out of buisness, own most of the worlds money, then raise prices when you cant get your stuff anywhere else because they are out of buisness and control the rest of the money. dont say you werent warned.
