As for team USA the following has happened.
1. Tanner pulls out due to moved dates on AK trip.2. Sammy pulls out.3. I invite Colby West and he got to pick any partner he wished, I read here on NS that he picked John Symms, but I have not gotten that confirmed, but I think it would be sweet if its true, I am sure they will come up with a seriously entertaining segment! Colby for sure had one of the best segments last year!
Thats is for now! Hope you like my judgement on the video-qual, not easy but i think the best guys moved on!

God I'm so excited for this! I know everyone is gonna be pissed Henrik isn't in, but Jacob is perfect for JOSS. He's got a huge bag of tricks and can throw down on the biggest features Jon can build. Tough choice, but I'm happy with it.

I think this is the one where it's head-to-head big air elimination

Last year on the Red Bull jump, Jacob did the best dub 12 ever, Henrik did a 360.
Its quite a big difference on small keystone stuff and the JOSS features. With more experience Henrik will be hard to beat, but in 2009 I think Jacob has the upper hand on features like this.
Thats what made the decision for me..

i would disagree. both have the skill to throw huge tricks. henrik has the upperhand because of the style he has no matter how fast or slow he is spinning/flipping.

i dont think its fair to count out Henrik simply because he did a 360 last year instead of spinning to win. he's got the tricks and the style. 9

... all this was at your own event after all
 
eh, how big was the monsterpark jump that henrik spun a sw16 off, or the level one booter he sw14 'ed
 
Jon, i think your picks where right on, but i really wonder y oscar wasnt invited already, when theres a bunch of other kids out their like luke, or chase, or pc fosse, all those guys who work really hard to try and get in. sorry for the rant.

keep in mind that Jon's decision to go with Jacob is for JOSS, which iis first and foremost a filming comp – plus a team effort – which makes the decision a little different, if you ask me.
Also, if you've checked josupersessions.com, the info has been out for weeks that Henrik is one out of four specially invited riders to JOI (Henrik, B Brown, Mike Clarke and Mike Riddle). A solid guy like Oscar Scherlin had to qualify to the same comp – so no question that Jon have recognized Henrik as a super-sick skier.

jea cosco! but for real tanner wtf, come to josssssss fucker!!!!! and i wonder what happened to sammy, cant say im not dissapointed but shits still gonna be dope, and i would like to see henrik compete (along with mass other ppl) you should just add a spot for him lol.

But this year should deffenetly be better then last year and last year was epic!
 
In my opinion, this is not just another comp for Sammy.
Last year, at JOSS, he was more than über-stoked to take home the whole event, (Sammy's always stoked but, well... you know). It was almost as somebody had given him some sugar. Check this link out, (at 24:55 Sammy talks): http://www.freeride.se/tv/2515/
So, no... he would hardly turn down JOSS/JOI without a very good reason. He's not filming in AK with Tanner, is he?

Shame not to see tanner there, but the shit he is getting for not being there is unbelievable. AK is where he sees himself and where he tests himself. JOSS will probably be the best freestyle comp of the year, but i know where i'd rather be if i got invited to alaska at the same time.
Shame not to see henrik there, but if Jacob is fit and healthy he, along with pk and andreas, would be the first names on the sheet. They are by far and away the best park skiers around at the moment
 
while the decision of jacob over henrik may be debatable, you cant go wrong either way.

This thread made me realize the amount of hypocritical, Henrik fanboys there are on this site.

Is he good? Fuck yeah. However, I'd say that Jon MIGHT know a thing or two about skiing ability and style. It's HIS contest, and he shouldn't have to justify his choice for a partner to a bunch of 15-year-olds on an online forum.

Jacob will be a great partner for Jon. Henrik doesn't have the experience, yet.
 

True in regards o the fact that people improve from year o year, but I am pretty sure that Henrik did not hit many 26m true tables in the last year...Bottom line, on a regular jump I would have picked Henrik, he is amazing! But on huge hips and huge tables, Jacob has year after year shown in movies and comps that he can handle them extremely well, he might not do much all year, but then springtime comes and Jacob steps up 4 levels and skis super amazing.Only time will tell if it was the right choice, it was not an easy one...But I am quite sure that side by side dub 12s and switch dub 10s should look pretty cool, especially as we spin opposite directions!Stoked to see Henrik in JOI though, he is for sure one of the top guys to look out for!
 
Oh yeah I forgot about that- opposite double corks, kangs, this is gonna be insane!

Jon, the only thing I have to say is look, you have some of the sickest doubles, so why pick a partner who does all the same tricks? I think with Henrik the variety would have created a much more interesting overall eye candy and with Jacob and you having similar tricks and styles it may get boring (Not for Sure) and Henrik shoots for the style side but also throws down big, and saying he can't hit a big jump and throw down seems a bit silly, but, both kill it so have fun! dominate!
 
I don't agree with Jon in some respects, but Jacob is the right partner for him. Jacob has shown time and time again he's primarily a jump skier, and a good one at that. Nothing against Henrik because I like watching him much more and like his style much better than Jacob, but I feel like Jacob fits the competition better than Henrik, especially with Jon as his partner. As a team, I feel like Jon and Jacob will mesh better than Jon and Henrik would. Henrik needs someone like Wallisch, Ahmet or Hornbeck as a teammate.
 
we all know jon couldn't handle a true hoodrat steezy mothafucka like henrik so he went with the true eurofag jacob
