Jon's new trick - THE TORNADO!

I agree with vanular's first post. It seems very similar to PK's switch "double cork" 12. I would say that PK's first 7 is barely corked and then his last 5 his very corked. Jon's first 7 is more corked and his last 5 is identical to PK's. And what's with the stupid names. It's a switch double cork 12. Not a "Tornado" These dumb names remind me of Jonny Moesly's "Dinner Roll".

I don't think he is being to serious with the name its a fun name and who really gives a fuck what a trick is called.

seriously, it's a cool name !!

that was weird. Like he said, even he didn't know what he did at first. The needs some getting use to.

Although, major respect for the man. Innovation is always a + in my book.

the last rotation is alot more inverted than pk's

pk does a "double wobble"

and it is called a tornado becuase i think the sign at the start of the video says "tornado" in swedish

dont hate of the name,

"hippie killer" "baby crusher" "bindsoul creeper"

they are just as random

im not really into the rollerblading grinds but arent the tricks you listed ones that were literally invented? so there isnt already a a naming system for them. what jon did was a sw dub cork 12, which already has a name. the first guy to throw a ten didnt decide to give it some gay new name..

that said its a dope trick. i just dont see the point of THPS style stupid names. THE TOORRNAADDOOOOO

What? No it doesn't.

Straightly translated the sign says "Tooth River Valley" and it's the name of the skiing centre. What the fuck are you smoking or why would you make an assumption like that without even checking out a translation first? Weird.

The trick was awesome and really corked unlike PK's and just overall so clean and perfectly landed.

let the haters hate jon. that was not only progressive, but super smooth and a banger trick at that. props

yeah i could probably do alot of sick doubles too if i had the funds to practice SAFELY into water all summer, and have PERFECT jumps built for me all year long. But id say its one of the sickest doubles ive seen, lots of blind spinning ...looks crazy as fuck

Don't be a faggot..thats like saying if I had the funds to build a basketball court at my house I could be as good as MJ..fuckin idiot w/ your terrible reasoning

Not likely, he had to become pro somehow, and that means he once was in your position. There is a reason he is a pro and you are a ski bum like the rest of us.

ZOMG . That's just and switch dub cork 12 ? really it is. and dont say : but he goes a little more inverted or something than other ppl in the game caus on regular dub 10's and 12's some ppl almost underflips the last 5 and some does it cork... and its still ha dub 10/12... the same switch,

Really creative of jon, but i can´t see way people can be mad. Since many other riders have been training the classic dub cork 12 with a mute grab (or some other grab) while Jon mixesess (sp?) it up a little. I for one will be very excited to see of far Jon can go on this years addition on the X!

Shut the fuck up.

Who cares if it was called "the pony flip" it is still a dope trick. Stop hating on every little tiny thing you can and appreciate a sick trick.

Exactly. To be honest I've been getting a little tired of this dub phenom going on (Jon's fault in the first place, inadvertently), but this is just plain ill. All this does is add stoke to the sport and helps move it in the right direction. I cannot comprehend people trying to drag this down. I know it's newschoolers but holy shit if it's not twall ghetto fab it isnt sick anymore, and that is just straight up disturbing.

DAMN!!!! took me like 20 views to see what was going there, but Im a noob.... really sick! If he can't throw it at x, may god shit on the heads of the guys who bild the jump!

yeah, if that actually is the case (probably not) it'd be so ridiculous since jon even offered his services to the x-games organizers and they refused :)

Pretty dope, definitely different then anything else i've seen, switch cork 7 to switch cork 5. PKs is like switch cork 9 to cork 3 and oscars is like a switch 5 to cork 7.

That trick is fuckin sick. That looked like it took some major planning to do before he took in to the snow. Crazy all the steps he takes in a trick but he has to when it's that dope. I don't think to many pros are going to go try that next time out.

Its almost like a double switch bio spin. Why do I say this...because when you normally do a switch cork 7 your cork is facing downhill, like what a bio would be normally...in this case his cork is facing uphill..more opposite of what a normal bio is..making it a switch bio.

What is skiing about then? MikD and the ghettos of New Orleans? If anything, I think the last 10 years suggest that skiing is about specializing and progressing the sport how you know best. For Pep that means leaving the park and rails for powder. For Jon it means focusing on doubles and building the sickest jumps (instead of doing whatever you think he should be doing--racing more?). For Tom Wallisch it means focusing on the park and rails instead of the backcountry or pipe. For Phil Casabon it means focusing on steeze instead of doubles.

If you think skiing is going too much in one direction, relax. Progress in skiing, skateboarding, snowboarding, etc. is dialectical. It moves to one extreme, then people catch on and move to a new extreme. Then that gets old, and people bring back the old extreme in a new, improved form (think about the doubles of the Schraab brothers, and how Jon brought them back).

I don't give a fuck if it has technically been done before, that was ridiculously dope. Huge props to Jon, that trick is crazy.

ISick as fuck, but i think Jon calling his sw dub 12 the tornado has as much of a chance of catching on as when he labeled his dub 12 a DJ flip. Someone else is going to come along with a better grab ie nose mute and steal his glory.
