Jon smokes race program out of a two bit pipe..

For those who aren't entirely closed minded on various aspects of skiing being drawn to the cumulative effort, i have some rather bad ass news.

I was standing at the pipe today in Park City, and as i gandered to my left I caught a glimpse of our good friend Jon Olsson pumping low and hard through a rutted GS course in flat light. Astonishing, was my first thought... Why would a freeskiing baller who has won virtually ever major contest be on a race course?

I dropped into a quick run and slid into the finish area of the race event just in time to see all the up-tight, nazi racer coach's faces sag in equal astonishment and apparent despair. I skated over to my Swedish comrade, knowing previously about his racing joke, and anxious to see how he had finished. And?

Jon went ahead had the fastest time in the second run out of 120 FIS racers, proving that he successfully does whatever he wants, and a rippin park skier who never trains the gates can step into the race arena against determined athletes with overzealous coaches and blow some fuckin socks off.

wowww that's intense... this shows that, in my opinion, jon is the most well rounded skier in the world, performing at such a high level in that many different aspects of the sport (park, big mountain, racing, hell he can prolly rip bumps) is just insane.

He grew up on racing FIS, has been lapping gates for the last few months and skis probally every day. thats training if i have ever seen it.

I was riding up the lift at WP and there was a FIS thing that day and I heard he was racing in it and i didnt believe it til i saw a guy in steezy clothes and a gimp hat inspeting the coarse. He did well too considering he has no points at all

only read the beggining of this thread and jon started off racing. and he was pretty fucken good to. so if the point of this thread is to say how park skiers are as good as racers at their own game you gotta take a step back and look at the whole picture. props to jon for kicken ass but i wouldnt put him in the catagory as a "park skier". thats just fucken stupid.
