Have any of you noticed how much he's been trying to please NS lately? Maybe I'm just crazy, but in the latest NS article about the slopestyle it said he did the 5 to please NS, and in his videoblog showing the courses for the XGames before they began he said something like, "Newschoolers, I'm not a bitch I'm just really excited".

I think its very endearing of him how despite how famous he is, I think he still wants to please this website!

Have any of you thought this?
 
I've noticed it too. I think its dope as hell. He could just blow us over, but no he doesn't. Thanks jon!

I just hope NS doesn't be itself and start hating jon for being nice to us.
 
this website constitutes everything in freeride skiing, everytime i meet a new skier at the hill the first thing thats said is "whats ur name on ns?" if this website dissappeared shit would get weird. so he should be trying to appeal to us
 
Basically Jon is the man. He could throw an unbelieveable stylish 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, off the big air, but instead he throws a double. why because he wants too and because he can. that's why it's called freeskiing and not dowhateverallthehatersonnewschoolers.comsayskiing
 
Maybe he's joking and making fun of NS because people on the forums have a history of hating on pros for everything from doing the hardest tricks possible to being shitty bowlers?
 
WOW REALLY???? I heard his name was gettin thrown around in a few soldier boy songs.

and yes it is a smart move on his part to have a site with a few thousand very active members to see him showin them some love...business is business. p.s. i love jon too
 
I do agree, he's obviously trying to appeal to us, but I think it's pretty cool how he's getting in touch with us... I honestly appreciate it.
 
I'm not too stoked about the big air. I'm just not down with throwing the same trick twice in a row in a competition like that. I uno I wasn't feeling.
 
Hahaha no thread can go on without having some kind of XGames commentary. This thread isn't about his big air showdown, it's about his outward appealing to NS.
 
He's a smart guy... he interacts with his audience (which NS is probably the majority, or at least a huge part of his audience) which keeps the audience engaged and keeps them coming back... I love his videos...
 
jons awsome. I love what hes doing for our sport, i love how hes being so personal, and taking comments from newschoolers, and actually adressing them rather than ignoring everything evryone says about him, jons awsome, definatly the sickest guy in our sport right now.
 
its cool what hes doing for the skiing community keeping everyone updated on what is going on, so i dont really think he tries to impress more like inform ns
 
Oh no NS isn't a majority. Jon is VERY famous in Europe, and the majority of NS is in North America. We are just his educated audience.
 
jon is one of my favorite riders, however i thought it was hilarious when he got third again in slopestyle
 
the first thing i noticed for sure.

one thing i did notice, how come he was on white mojo boots. has he realised that the beer bottle brown ones this year are as ugly as sin...?
 
i love jon's humility and outlook on skiing in general - racing? jibbing? doubles? he does it because he likes it. he also recognizes that this site has an incredible amount of sway in both the sport and the industry, just like line realizes, and treats us accordingly. i think it's sweet as hell whenever any of the pros name-drop ns hahaha
 
I think its sick how jon posts on NS, i also want to say that jossi helped me out today, in previous threads i asked people what helmet he wore and no one really gave me an answer so he pmed me to tell me which one he wore, i dont no i just think its kinda cool of those two to do that
