Jon Olsson Super Sessions Thread

So this is it, it is just about to kick off so I thought that making a thread for that event instead a 1000 would be a great idea. It will be March 26th to April 5th so it's gonna be a really long event.

Does anyone know who will take Jossi's spot finally ?

And my pick for the win would be Jon. Just because he's got the doubles and also can do other sick tricks like his sw 5 or and his Sw misty 10s but since it is a comp with the top 10 in the world, everybody could take it.

All we can hope now is the best of luck for the weather and for an injury free comp

im exited to see what footy comes out of this event...

my prediction of who will win will be jon team will win.. His doubles flips are clutch.

it is a team effort to win isnt it?

anybody know how the prize will be devided? 20 000 for skier, filmer and photographer to share, or 20 000 for each? or will only the skier get the money..?

my pick for the win would be Jeff. Just because he's got the doubles and also can do other sick tricks like his 900s and his Sw octo 112s

This comment is to Jon, (I hope he reads before the contest is done, even though he must be super busy...)

I am tired of seeing Kangaroo flips, we get it you can do them really well and always land perfect on them...but where are the rest of your doubles? You can do like 5 or 6 right, lets see all of them, not just the same one over and over again. Same with flatspin 5s, probably the coolest trick ever IMO, but seeing a thousand of them gets old, lets see you change it up a bit eh?

This goes to the rest of the riders as well, throw in a ton of different tricks, not just the same ones...

Jon knows how to throw a comp. Huge goodie bags for EVERYONE, filmers included but they deserve it, without them we have no movies. The line-up is stacked, everyone has a chance of winning.

Colby, Simon, Jon, JAcob, Pete will all kill it but Sammy is taking this thing, just wait.

henrick was the only alternate i agreed with. walisch, rich permin and laraunt would have been been better choices than the other two IMO.

im not sure i quite follow how that step up hip thing works... but ok. im sure it will make sense when i see people hit it

Hopefully Crill does an update for Jons blog soon. The pics in Schmucks article on the homepage are fucking ridiculous.

seems like a great idea, sick comp, rediculous jump.

However, i do have a complaint. IN the past three years, the JOI has been a huge showcase of the big names, but also the up and comers who deserve the right to slay with the big names.

I feel this year with the super sessions it isn't. I think its good clarke and harlaut are in it, because they are part of the future of skiing. However there are TONS of other good skiers who deserve a right to hit those jumps.

well they should've entered a video that was better than clarke's and jacob's. this was MEANT to be an elite photo/videoshoot, there are many other comps for up n' comers

I cant stand listening to Jon Complain. All the updates, podcasts, and videos are just filled with him saying how much of a bitch it is to be a pro skier, then when people do go at it, even if its pretty big, He bitches about the jump or something. just ride jon, just ride.

id guess that he's more bumed out about the fact that there were only 3 riders even hitting the hip... i mean if had a comp that was suppose to have all 10 riders seshing and filming... and not even half were hitting it... id be a little dissapointed... i mean not at the riders but just as the host...

you talk shit mate. i cant stand listening to you complain. I have never heard him once say how much of a bitch it is to be a pro skier, he makes you realise it can be hard work, but im sure he wouldn't have any other job over it. and even when he does bitch, you ever think perfectionism might be the reason hes one of the top freestylers and event hosts in the world.

I think he was saying he was disappointed in the way the jump turned out. Part of what makes Jon the balls is that he builds the jumps that he puts in the comp that he sponsors and later rules. So I think he's allowed to "complain" when something doesn't quite turn out the way he wanted it to.

The comp looks so sick so far.

The Bmx jumps session looked SICK. And as Tanner said, it looks like the best comp in the history of skiing. If the weather is good for the rest of the event, it's gonna be even better.
