I just think the jump for the step up bigair jump was a bit to floaty.

if you want decent air out of a step up, it need to be steep with a smooth tranny (jon's jump).

 
That happens with every new move though.

Sw 10's, Sw12's, now Doubles..the next thing that comes around which wins comps - people will get sick of after a while too, no matter what it is
 
i saw a real kangaroo once but it didn't do any flips though.

i wonder where jon came up with the name "kangaroo flip" because kangaroos don't flip. "hateindoubles flip" would have been better name because when jon wins with a double flip everyone starts to flip out that doubles are so gay...

think about when announcer yells:

he actually says why there named that in one of the videos. its somethin about there was a bunch of kangaroo shit around at the place where he finally got the rotation down. its either in ski porn or in an interview with him in the extras.
 
once you see it in real life your opinion will change completely about the kangaroo flip. somebody has to match up how hard he's been working on that thing...now it barely looks like he's even trying to get it around so once somebody throws it down like that he will not win comps with it....if other people are trying to win, they are going to have to keep up with jon and how hard he's pushing the progression of this game, so if you want to win you gotta throw doubles. you go out and stick doubles and then tell me you are tired of them...they look like so much fun.
 
Not me. He's the guy you pushed the limit of the big air tricks and now, he just get what he deserved to. He's like so many other guys in other x-games disciplines who repeat their best tricks as long as they win the contest.

im not gonna lie his kangaroos are sick, but yea im ready to see something else now, especially cuz thats all he does in big airs now. but who knows, maybe when u do a kangaroo u get this crazy body orgasm or something and thats why he does them so much, we would never know lol.
 
i dident get to watch it but did jossi try that switch double rodeo from the area 1 and empire video? i really tought that would have been in the top 3 at least if he could have pulled it off.

I guarantee every other big name pro has done more switch 10's in comps than Jon has Kangaroos. They are a sick trick, not many other people can do them (and arguably, no one can do them as well as Jon) and they easily beat a switch 10 which seems to be most other skiers big air trick of choice. I think Charles had the best chance at beating Jon, if he stomped a switch 12 octo really really clean. Dumont wasn't even close though.

i think it is just stands out more when jon does his kangaroo flip alot because it is famous and people really notice it. but when someone like charels gagnie does switch 12's all over the place and wins. know one notices. face it people are gonna do what will win them comps an they know they can land.
 
How do you know I suck? And theres a Bio 3 in my profile. But there was a arguement thread right before mine that said you can't do a bio 3 only cork.

where you have to throw a different trick each round? and you cant repeat? I have never heard of such a thing.. and I've actually attended a few of these contests...
 
haha okay fine.. except that one... in my defense, ive only seen FOOTAGE from that comp, not the actual, whole thing in telecast format... so I wouldnt have known.

I know at Freestyle.ch and Icerair, he threw about 5 kangs in each... so... My understanding is that there are no rules there.
 
yeah i guess its not the norm but thats what made the invitation so interesting to me last year. You had to have a bunch of different tricks and plan how u were gonna use them. To me its like throwing the same trick of every jump in a slopestyle. U get penalized there so y not in big air.
