lol you guys are bringing environmental debate, ignorance, age, and park vs normal skiing up all in one thread. fuck that. all I gotta say is that this was a cool shot and I want to be skiing there.
 
With you on this one.....carving groomers is just a fucking blast. Nothing better than cruising with friends recklessly around the mountain. Possibly drunk.

just put your self in jons shoes, wouldnt using a heli whenever you wanted to ski be pretty awsome!

last time i checked skiing was about one thing, the actual riding! not a bunch of trend whores complaining

and if we are talking about the carbon footprint from the ski industry mabye if every kid on hear didnt buy first drop because kids on ns say its cool winter would be a little longer

so ski because you want to ski, carve, pow, park whatever. Buy that new jiberish becuase it looks fucking dope

the definition of freeskiing is that there is no definition other than using skis. used to be sliding on snow, but now you don't even need to do that anymore.

like the freedom aspect! that you can do so much on snow, so he does it all!

this sit is called NEWSCHOOLERS, for NEWSCHOOL skiing. this was so stupid to post, and just looked so dumb. why would you post a racin g video if you didnt want to get hated on?

That video was sick though, great skiing, it's not something a lot of people here will appreciate, but it was some damn good skiing and nobody can deny that.
 
there are plenty of racers turned freestyle skiers on this site. many pros and a lot of the up and comers have backgrounds in mogul skiing and or racing, to say that racing isn't a huge part of skiing, or hasn't given todays pros the foundation to ski at such a high level in the park, pow, and b/c is absolutely moronic.
 
people were charging big mountain lines on 210 straight skis 20 years ago but its still considered ns isnt is? only reason theres hate here is coz kids are too fucking stupid to appreciate a bit of awesome racing coz he wasnt wearing a tall tee... not sure how many nsers have ever clicked into a pair of gs skis and ripped them but its fucking fun....
 
Yeah I'm sure jon had heli hours paid for just to make fun of freestyle edits. Don't be stupid. And as for yniq I wouldn't say yniq was company created to give back to the free skiing community, its targeted to rich Europeans as he had said before, kids cant afford these goggles he created. Not hating on Jon before anyone tries to qoute me and make a 12 page thread

i am suprised on the amount of people here who dont apreciate a sick groomer run with some boss turns. this vid gets me stoked to just ski again.

i dont enjoy turning from side to side on a wide open mellow slope, yes i know how to do it its just boring as fuck.
 
just think of the things that could come out of that helicopter in that period of time with Level 1 or another film company.

I have all respect for Jon but making fun of Freeskiing edits is just dumb

it's like he trying to delete his past which he never cant.

If this is making fun of freeskiing because he is using a helicopter and a dubstep song then what isn't. Jon is definately not making fun of freeskiing. The guy is super stoked on skiing in general and has a helicopter over there to show how much he's enjoying his training up there. And what better way to show people than with a helicopter and those images.
And deleting his past? I don't think freeskiing is his past yet. He built a huge kicker on the same glacier and is going to session it with PK and Alex Aurdal. Guess he is allowed by NS to use a helicopter and a dubstep song for those shots...
 
So does Jon have a chance to win a medal next Olympics or something? That would be the only reason I would think and of this racing bull shit is cool.
 
Learn your roots. You'll never be able to ski like that, don't hate. However, I do agree, it was a pretty happy and chill atmosphere.
 
learn your roots? the roots of newschool skiing is mike douglas and the new canadian air force, not some dude in a skinsuit ripping down a groomed run. thats what newschool skiing was trying to get away from.
 
I thought it was Lame, not thread worthy. But then again I'm not into watching dudes in skin tight suits just make turns down a groomed slope
 
jon even has his own logo on his heli. i mean come on proper freeskiers don't do things like that. i think jon is (or was) really good at freeskiing but he seems to have taken a preference to racing.
 
he took freestyle out of big air, and now is ruining everything,

YNIQ sponsors elias ambuhl, thats it. not like anyone would wear that gay shit

any events he puts on to "give back" are invites that he makes money on

him and simon ruined the Freeski Open by rigging it, and taking any profit leaving the comp sponsors pissed saying they would never do it again. thanks alot, these people have now constructed the AFP, and are sure to ruin all of NS.

just like his girlfreind, the heli was rented
 
Such a beast of a skier...don't see why people get mad when they see some proper piste skiing.
