I'm sure he would love to be skiing pow, but right now he needs to be training for slopestyle which is the next comp he will be in - so of course he's gonna be training in the park!?!!!!

The main US comp circuit is just about to start so I'm sure the big mountain pros are out training and shredding big mtn, pipe skiers are out training pipe, slopestyle skiers are training on jumps and rails, and when there is too much snow for the jumps to be open, then they are hitting rails all day!

These guys do this for a living, and Jon happens to make plenty of money out of slopstyle comps - so of course he's gonna be training in the park - irrespective of whether there has been 10metres of snow fall overnight
 
So he should ski pow (minimilistic and shitty most likely) instead of training for X Games which is how soon..... good idea

Why are any pros in CO for 2 of the best months of powder skiing, when they could be shredding like 6 feet of powder off some heli? Maybe because skiing park is fun and they can make a lot of money doing it.

we could cleary see in the vid that it wasnt a pow day, but only a snowfall of about an inche, making the jumps impossible to hit. but he should have left the park to get faceshots and ride powder? youre a fucking idiot.
 
This guy is just mad cause he sucks at park and skis pow because he has given up on the park dream, since not a tonne of people ski pow he thinks he is actually good and talks like he is good to all of his friends... but jealousy came back and when he didnt see jon skiing out of the park when it was snowing he immediately made this thread to try to make good park skiers seem stupid... but his plan back fired because we all saw right through his scheme.
 
well his job is pretty much to ski park.... and the odd BC kicker. he has to keep his skills up with the best. sure hes a great all around skier, but work is work. even if you are a pro skier.
 
aren't the x games coming up soon? personally, when it dumps i'm shredding pow. but if i was gonna be in the x games i would be practicing. and who cares if he's a park rat anyway? he rips
 
psssssh he probably rides better snow then most of us on this site when he goes on heli trips. One mediocre pow day on a local mtn isnt anything compared to a mediocre day in Alaska. Think about that little jaunty. Over the years Jon has become one of my favorite skiers, for i just feel bad for him because he always takes 2nd place.
 
jon a park rat?? kid your on crak!! jon won the Scandi Big mountain champslike 2 years ago, hes one of the best all round skiers on the planet.. hes training atm soo he can kill it at x-games..and the open and make a shit load of money, in order to be the best you must make some sacrifices.. .. and some times that means a powder day or 2 in jon's case... and who ever called hima rollerblader shoot yourself.. jons the man, his rail skills arent the best but there still preety fukin amazing..
 
i was merely making the point that whereas we all ski for fun, skiing is jon's JOB which he does for his living you facetious buffoon. you think ski instructors blow off their job to ski pow just because it snowed last night?

you don't need that much snow to close big jumps, and you apparantly aren't familiar with colorado, cause those days are just like 3 inches, which isn't pow at all, but definetly makes jumps uninhittable.

i guarentee he is a better park, pipe, and powder rider than just about anyone in the industry.

wel heres the thing bitch, in the world of professional skiing, they have something called training, they also have this competion, u might hav heard of it, its called the x-games.....
 
to be fair, x games is coming up so he probably wants to spend as much time as he can in the park training.

Slopestyle is his job if he doesn't practice his tricks he won't make enough money to support his lifestyle.

He's a park rat that is trying to qualify for the 2014 olympic team? He was at the camp in SaaS Fee. He's gonna try to qualify for the Olypics and claimed that only a couple of the guys on the team could keep up with him. He's not a park rat, He is just a competator that treats skiing like a sport not just an activity. He practices.
 
You all tell me to get a life but you're all living your lives vicariously through your ski heroes, and besides some of you got all upset over some silly thread I made yesterday. I really don't give a shit what Jon Olson does and hope that he inspires generation after generation of park skiers who stay off the mountain. My mountain decided to take away the park so that might have something to do with it. I hate arguing, especially over the internet with a bunch of knobs. So I'm just gonna leave it at that, keep posting in here but I won't read your stupid fucking comments.
 
You're a moron. My God. Jon can ski pow WHEREVER he wants in the world, for as long as he wants, and you think he should skip training for winter X so that he can ski INBOUNDS in KEYSTONE? Why would... fuck, you know what, this isn't even worth it, just shut up and never post again.

yaeh, i wasnt a big fan of Jon, i dont know why, just never have been. BUT, after watching his blogs i am a big fan.
 
i think this is funny cuz hes the one whos arguably one of the best park skiers in the world and you guys are all making fun of him for doing what he loves the most in the world and also on pow days its fun to do park cuz you can try more things like today it snowed like 8 inches and i tried my first cork ever and i landed it
