Jon Ollson kangaroo flip (rant)

i want to satart off by saying Jon Ollsons by far one of the best skiers out there and actually one of my favorites, and laso his kangaroo flips are amazing......but i think that he may be over using this trick if thats possible, sure it wins him all the comps, but it seems so predictable.....
 
there have been threads on this. if you were in a comp and you had the trick to win would you throw it?
 
The only thing more overused than kangaroo flips are kangaroo flip rants. That search bar isn't there because people enjoy looking at it.
 
why not throw a trick that hardly anyone if anyone else is throwing in a competition? so just because he's throwing better and more technical shit than a switch 10 mute, BUT we know hes going to do it, land it perfect and super-stylie then he shouldn't? Its all about putting together your best run, why limit it because he does it a lot????????
 
well maybe............ if the x games built bigger jumps you would see a newer double. its just thats the double he can throw off of smaller jumps so he does it. he will use it again in us open slope. but maybe if the big air jump is bigger hell do one of the new ones. i imagine youll see the new ones at the north american open if he seshes with the kids.

On the other hand, he obviously knows it's a crowd/judge pleaser and it's money in his pocket. Of course he's going to do it a lot, it's almost a guaranteed win because few others will throw it that sylish
 
hes not doing it for money. hes just as mad about not being able to do the new ones as all of you guys are about him JUST doing kangies.
 
At least something other then a switch 10 is winning things these days. That was the winning trick for, 5 years? Before that was Tanner's switch rodeos for 5 years. Skiing needs to progress quicker.
 
I don't see whats wrong with him throwing them down if they're big and clean...

it is HIS trick after all...
 
^good point, i wanna see the DJ and the hexo in comp tho. something that actually challanges him
 
I dunno about you, but if I am in a big Air comp i will throw the best trick I can on that jump.

I'm sure Jon is just doing the same, maybe he wasn't sure if he could land a DJ flip on those jumps
 
yea i kinda agree i mean listening to mike douglas during the xgames be like "o i wonder what he will throw of the money booter he could really use a 10 or 12 right now" and the when he does the kangaroo flip hes like "omg a kangaroo flip no way" honestly. really i saw that coming from a mile away
