Jon Ollson and the X game Judges

I've noticed a lot of shit between the judging and Jon. Things like marking off points because he makes it look effortless and casual instead of aggressive in his runs. THAT IS BULLSHIT.

What is up with that?
 
That was the most badly judged event i have ever seen in my whole life. Jon should have gotten second!!! Dumont's 2nd run was better than tanner's. And on Tanner's 3rd run he was given a 92 when all he did was throw a 10, SUCH BULLLLLLSHIT!!!!!

i think tanner did better than everyone else his tricks were so perfect, it was real close though, and i didnt think any of jons runs were too great.
 
obviously all the x games cares about is height and he just didnt have it...and his run looks the same every year with slight changes
 
any way they go you can always argue that it was wrong. with different judges, ther would have been a different result. it will be that way with any judges every time.
 
i know some pro skiers who say jon def shouldve won pipe 2 years ago the first year simon won it, yeah i agree jon gets dicked over because gay judges think he's not putting enough effort into it, but its so easy for him thats why
 
ya that comment was some shit. if he makes it look so easy its because hes better than everyone else duh. other than that i thought it was pretty fair
 
Josh Loubek and his group of has been minions are some of the most anti-progressive people in the world. They are the reason skiing has turned into a spin to win contest.

Andreas hatveit...HUGE switch tricks...as the thread started stated...Jon, smooth AND technical...9 9 10...

So if Josh Loubek, Shane szocs and the rest of the handicap crew were running competitions I guess we'd have big airs and quarter pipe comps...all based on most amount of ungrabbed spins and highest daffys.

Wow, the first skier EVER to really get switch halfpipe skiing moving...vowing never to do it again at the X games...guess thats progression.

P.S.S So as not to cause any confusion, as I know some of you children are simpletons, I am making this comment regarding the judging reducing the progression...not Andreas' comment.

jon was a major disappointment. you think after not winning for this many years he would work on getting higher in the pipe...his amplitude was definetely lacking. He really didnt have a completely clean run either. i was disappointed in the normally very clean jon.

what about gagniers corked unnatural super tweaked 10? and the fatc that jons run just wasnt good. there was nothing he did to make it stand out.
 
I think Jon is the man, but he didn't get robbed. He didn't have a ton of amplitude, he did back to back straight airs, and he did nothing switch.
 
I would have agreed with the premise of this thread a year ago, but it no longer holds water. Jon did not have the amplitude or the technicality to win.

I wish Andreas would have stomped his last run. And I really wish the judges would award people for going switch. They'd be encouraging people to ride FUCKING BACKWARDS in SUPER PIPE. That's progress--not discouraging athletes from attempting difficult shit.

Oh well.
 
I am, and have always been, a HUGE supporter of Jon. He has argueably (sp?) the best style and overall "perfectness" in freeskiing. In the past couple of years in XGames I have felt that Jon was ripped off and he should have done better than the judges gave him. However, this year I have to say that Jon was treated fairly by the judges. Jon threw numerous straight airs and barely spun until his last few hits. Granted, it was really sick to watch, he did not have anywhere NEAR the technicality of the other skiers. In additon, as you guys said earlier, his amplitude was really lacking as well. He wasn't getting the boost that the other top riders were getting. He really seemed like he was at another level than the others. He just didnt have what it takes to get a medel this year. I think the judges did a pretty good job of judging Superpipe. And let me tell ya, i NEVER agree with the judges...
 
jon lacked speed... it looked like his wax was off because right after his first wall it looked like he was losing half his speed in the flatbottom...
 
it doesnt matter... tanner had the sob story so the judges knew who they were givin it too..

dumont's back was worked and he still went 5ft higher than tanner..
 
jon should have gotten 4th or 5th. he just didn't boost outta the pipe with his tricks like favre or dumont or hall did.
 
yeah, and what was with olenik scoring higher than jon...his run wasn't that great and he was bitchin that he got cheated cause the judges have it out for him.
 
jon is sick if he got higher he could place in later events his spins r soo smooth and he makes them look effortless cuz hes amazing at em
 
hell yea man, I forgot about gagniers unnatty 10 at the bottom. Gagnier had a good run, maybe podium? Gagnier along with Hatveit and Favre are some of the most under rated riders out there it seems in the judges eyes anyway... Im glad NS knows whats up. Thall was wicked clean and dumont was huge as usual but those other 3 brought sick progression to the pipe
 
i love jon and everything but really he wasnt getting as near as amplitude as any of the podiuming athletes and he really didnt pull out one clean run without his hands touching down or anything i mean i guess he deserves a few places higher but i really dont think podium
 
yeah dumont and tanners runs were almost equal, but i think tanner seemed to have more control, dumont went huge but so did tanner, and tanner did like everything perfect, i wouldnt be upset with dumont winning though.
 
Did anyone think that Laurent Favre should have won b/c of this:

1. huge 20 + feet out 540; 70 feet down the pipe

2. 2 switch moves to finish his run.

This is the direction of Pipe skiing and I think that he deserved to win.

BUT, the g-unit comment before his last run was super gay.
