I personally thought his rail section sucked. PK did a sw 450 disaster, Andreas did a 360 switch up. Jon did switch on and thats it on the flat gap down box
 
Ya it was kinda brutal compared to PK's. Andreas' wasn't bad either, but I was really dissappointed with Jon's rails. He won it off his 4-hit jump series, but I don't know if he should have simply cuz it's slopestyle, not jumpstyle. They should've incoorperated the rails too.

minor flaw was a flail on a switch on, gap, switch out. then a switch

on, pretzel 450 out with flawless style? and a switch 270 disaster, switch out, with flawless style?

i hope for the future of style in skiing, that you kids didn't prefer andreas's rail tricks. absolutely whack.
 
its all about flow, jon's run had flow. andreas did mute grabs in 3 of his jumps (not dissing him), jons jumps were enough to make up for the rails. sw on pretzel 450 out is pretty damn sick too.w 270 on is better than what both people did on the battleship, he also did the best trick on the up rail out of the 3. so i dont see hwo you can degrade him on that
 
Dude, jons rails were dope, switch to unnatty, then switch to unnatty blind 450 off and switch 270 to the top of the trap. And his jumps were fucking flawless. Jons run >(barley) PK
 
dont have to say unnaty, thats just the way alot of people grind when they go switch. there is no unnatural for rails anymore anyway
 
his jumps were amazing Im not taking that away. Im just saying that it could have been a toss up between PK and him, it would have been nice to see a not so well known rider get the win.
 
i really didnt like the course, i hate slopestyle course that have all the jumps and then the rails. they need to mix it up.
 
I have no idea what you're talking about, Jon's run was sick, and he hit every single rail switch, pulling out some shit I've never seen (switch on to unnatural 450 off was crazy ass)... He deserves the win in my opinion.
 
they don't mix it because its impossible to hit rail/jump/rail/jump and still have speed for the jumps.
 
jumps are always greater than rails, they always have been and always will be. I personally like rails more, and feel that they have no weight judging wise on them. Last years open they didnt even count the picnic tables, which happened to be one of 2 boxes you had a choice at.
 
Olsson's run had to be one of the sickest slopestyle runs I've seen ever. Lots of variety in the jumps, and doing the entire rail section switch to switch without any revert was sweet. yeah PK's switch 450 on was better than Jon's switch on switch out, but Jon owned the shit out of everyone else with the switch on pretzel 450 and cab 270 on.

Jon deserved it, PK's run was also insane but less variety than Jon. Props to both of them.
 
yea i would not say that his rail section was weak, sure he didn't destroy the gap box, but switch on 450 out and the switch 270 on the battleship were pretty tech... pk only switched up the second kink on the battleship, and his sw 450 was in my opinion quite sketchy... jon definitely deserved the win, his run was dope, had great flow, just overall slayed
 
pk's cab 450 should not even count, he barely kissed the rail.

andreas line was crazy tech by far the most tech of them all, jon and pk's run were picture perfect except for pk'sd switch 450.

first timje i agree with the placing on the podium in a while.

now the real wquestion is, does anybody have footage from the other guyz that made finals and semis???
 
I thought the judging was pretty fair from the runs. Jon did the best airs period. He had variety, mixed up the directions of his spins, and every landing was spot on. He also was on the rails the entire distance, great runs = 1st place. PK had some huge airs but he was doing all spins and doing them all in the same direction. First rail it looked like he overshot it a bit even though the spin was insane, overall a dope run but not enough = 2nd.
 
you cant call it unnaty on if ur comin on switch. thats the normal way that hge spins so its easier that way. i do the same thing

same with 270, you cant say im doing 270 to unnatuarl
 
I agree with Cedric

Did anyone see Jon's landing after the Kangeroo Flip? That would be the definition of stomping a trick.
 
agreed, Andreas really impressed me, back to back switch 1080s both ways sooo clean.

he got cheated out of 2nd
 
PK's score was like 1 point less than Jon's, so it was very close. But overall Id say Jon deserved the win. His run was so smooth and tech
