Jon offered to build the X-games course ...

with a building resume like Jon why wouldnt they at least take his advice?

I agree. last years setup looked way to forced and they never had time to set-up for the next feature.

Noooooo....

In Colorado for instance. It can't be argued Breck and Keystone have the best parks in the state (I'm not going into a Key vs. Breck debate). I'm 50% sure Breck and Key's parks are made by just regular Vail Resorts employees. Now look at Copper Mountain, which has an SPT park. Copper's jumps suck, Breck and Key's don't.

Although SPT makes good pipes, for sure.

Jon is very well spoken, and a very patient person, I think they should go ahead and sign him on, because he will listen to their concerns, along with put in his own style, without taking charge of the place

Perhaps if Jon can do the Euro X-Games for them or something and produce a good course to show them what their missing they might think twice.

Also cant they put the course on another run or something that is steeper/longer and just promote it as "bigger and badder than ever before" or whatever bullshit ESPN would like to use. Could actually work in their favour if they put one of Jons massive booters the average viewer would go nuts.

Its fine the way it is, I like seeing people go into a tuck at the last 180 degrees of spin before landing their trick just to get enough speed to barely clear the next one.
And uphill landings are progression.

lets just all hope that the euro organisers have a little more sense, arent so arrogant and take a little advice from someone who has made some of the biggest and safest jumps around

I didn't know there were such blatant flaws in the course. If things really are that bad (uphill landings, kinked takeoffs etc) then there is no excuse for SPT. The point I was getting at is that the unnecessary tight-packed course (which is what 90% of the complaints here are about) wouldn't be a decision made by the park builders themselves, but someone much higher up.

Jon, you're an extremely influential and respected athlete in our sport right now. Surely you must be able to create some noise about this and approach ESPN, with the backing of the other X athletes, to demand a resolution.

i believe it is time to exersise our constitutional right to petition, if we can show that skiers, and boarders, are up to having Jon Build the course or some sort of athlete intervention, then they will probably listen, especially if we can get the invited riders, and dew tour athletes to sign. They cant say no to that, and if they do, they obviously are not what skiing needs.

pros need to sack up and deal with it, stop being pussies and just ski. i could understand complaining if the weather sucks, but there's always something wrong with any sort of course. fuckin be pros.

jon wouldn't opt to build the park in order for him to win, the guy is a complete baller. he does it cause he loves the sport.

you sure about this? breck stop was their normal park, I'm pretty sure they built it themselves. Not sure about Mt Snow and Northstar, but I was under the impression these were built by the resort park crews...
