Jon Brogan? VIBES

I think nobody should take a stand about what happened. The only people who really know were the people inside the car. Lets just stay respectful to the people who got hurt and send vibes. Also when people tell stories it often gets twisted, from the one legit source I had, he has been waken up and doing great progress. They are hoping to get him off the ventilator really soon. good morning everyone...here is an update!the neurosurgeon came in last night and had better news. he believes jon will begin to wake more and more each day. they will be doing a cat scan today to check on jon's progress. we are also hoping today will be the day he will not be incubated any longer! jon is eager to speak and tries... we told jon level 1 released one of his videos on facebook and i think he thinks he is the shit right now! how great is that!!! LOLkeep it coming...prayers, wishes and the love....there can be no shortage of it...and thank you! i know jon's eyes are saying thank you~Keep on sending vibes !
 
This is not a fact at all, actually quite false. There's no reason to drink and drive and certainly everyone does not do it.

Anyways, this is really quite upsetting. Hope he's okay. Such a nice kid and a really talented skier.
 
Vibes to him. Hopefully he battles through and comes back strong next season.

On a related note, I wish the chick updating his facebook would learn the difference between inCubated and inTubated.

I don't mean to take away from the thread at all, but that being said, does it takes him getting in a car accident to get some respect by NS? For the past couple years all there's been is hate towards this kid. Every thread made involving him turns into a shitstorm by kids who think they know his shit and give him crap for living his life. It's fucking pathetic that NS hates so hard on a kid, and then when something like this happens everyone's giving him props and shit. I'm not saying you shouldn't give him props, but it's absolute bullshit that it takes a car accident for kids to stop hating. If I were him I would hate skiing too with everyone giving me crap.

So stop hating, but way more importantly get well soon Jon.
 
seems like a lot of kids hated on him at the beginning but then when he stopped skiing people realized that they missed his style and he has been getting a shit ton more props lately before this accident
 
lived with this dude for a month I can say he's a nice guy down to earth guy. fuck the haters

thanks for the updates... for the record though, he's being intubated, not incubated. intubation is machine aided breathing... incubating is keeping something warm.
 
I don't want to start an argument in this thread, but I believe this is relevant enough that it is warranted. As some have already mentioned, driving drunk once in college -or at anytime for that matter- is not an "unfortunate fact".
I am in university. I drink, a lot. So do my friends. None of us drive drunk, get in the car with drunk drivers or condone people who do. This sounds like a corny ad, but get home any other way or sleep at a friend's place. I know people (including myself) who, for lack of any other option, have done hour + long drunken walks/stumbles to get home (claim).
You have to seriously be an idiot with a death wish to drive/ride drunk.

Yeah his friends mom keeps posting that on Facebook, a lot of people make that mistake. the person who posted the update here just reposted what she said on his facebook. slightly comical
but i have faith he will heal up, nothing but good vibes.
 
i wasn't trying to take a stand, just trying to make the point (directed at the person i quoted)that wishing harm on the driver is ignorant and that she should deserve equal respect and well-wishes etc.- regardless of how/why the accident happened.
 
Thanks for stickying this mods, I probably wouldn't have clicked it otherwise. This is really bad, skiing or not skiing this year has been one of the worst for injuries. Right now Jon needs support, he'll power through it. The circumstances are worse than anything, it's terrible how something so stupid can be so devastating.
 
yea this. I heard the news but couldn't find the thread on this, even though I knew there had to be one. But huge vibes to Jon. Its the worst when just completely random shit comes along and ruins peoples lives. Hopefully Jon's recovery is nothing short of extraordinary.
 
so from what I have gathered from this, jon brogan was in a drunk driving accident and ended up in a coma for a day or two, woke up but was un able to preform coherent speech... thats not good. That sounds like major tissue damage, really really bad shit. Hope he pulls through. By far my favorite skier! My thoughts are with you brogz
