JOI triples...

vi står skulder ved skulder Østjyllandnd dreaming - skal du til åre så skal du have en fed tur.

In english; are you going - if so have a nice trip. And yes Jon knows how to throw a comp.

Once triple corks are thrown more regularly, doubles will become way more stylie and awesome. Bring on the triples I say

What are your thoughts on JOI having a live stream? I know it wouldn't work for everyone because of time zones...but, I would love to watch the event as it is happening.

Also, do you think Jon Olsson could build a jump so big, that he wouldn't hit it?

I would definitely watch it, and I'm sure it would work despite different time zones. If people know what time it will be streamed they can usually manage to watch it.

On the other hand, I am pretty sure Jon mentioned that there will be no live stream, because he would prefer to see more people actually going there to be at the event. I think if he built a jump and other riders were hitting it then he for sure would also hit it.

I see...that makes sense...I am sure having a lot of people at the event would be awesome. The parties must be killer at JOI.

Just kidding with the jump being built too big. Can't wait for this event.

I'm really looking forward to this years JOI. I really enjoyed the comp last year, and I think it will be good this year as well. Jon is a guy with passion for skiing and knows how to hold a comp, thats for sure. I'm excited for triples, but anyways, if someone throws down a sweet and stylish double, I'm gonna be equally empressed. Something new and creative that's really all that I'm looking for. Let's end the season with a bang folks, let's end it with JOI. :D

Only because Bobby doesn't do a triple cork....he does a double cork to flatspin. Or if you're really cynical a cork 7 to double flatspin.

I'm not entirely sure if you want a real answer to this or if you just want to make a statement...

The reason there's no JOSS is because JOSS is a week long event, where JOI is just two days. With JOI Jon needs to organise hotel rooms for two maybe three nights, build one huge feature, provide one after party and most importantly finance it all. With JOSS there's a week's worth of hotel rooms, 5 huge features, tons of parties and a lot more financing to do. Also last time he tried hosting JOSS Simon Dumont decided to throw a fit when he didn't win and messed up the plans for releasing the edits in order. Last year with just one feature Jon had a drunk naked guy hit his jump and overshoot the landing almost completely, basically what I'm saying is that while Jon is quite obviously super-human not even he has the time to put on a gigantic event like JOSS every year when he's got a pretty busy lifestyle. Yes, partly thanks to racing, but not completely. I doubt you even read all of that...

yeah it takes a ton of work. it's still sick though and I wish it was still going on. I just think that if he wasn't so into racing now then he'd still be putting it on. This shit is gonna be like ozzfest. he decided not to do it last year and now it's never going to happen again.

I really hope it comes back! I read somewhere that Jon is considering bringing it back for next year, I don't remember where though.. Those edits are some of the best of the year, always!

straight back at you man - its a little funny that you are from Notoden, each time i drive to my "Hytte" I go by a sign on the hi-way to your town now each time i see that sign i'll send you some vibes.

Is that pretty much a remake of the 2007 joi jump? that thing was so sweet. Regardless, Jons the man. Cant wait to see what goes down

yes i'm danish. And that sucks in terms of skiing. ha ha. I just love skiing that my wife and i have bought a hytte in the middle from Hafjell, kvitfjell and skeikampen, we go there 2-3 times each winter- along with that i go to austria to work as an instructor for a week or 2 each year in feb. Normally we sail to Larvik and drive from there.
