Anyway..I think the point is Jonny Cash wheather he infuenced punk rock or not was One of a kind...and in a sence a rebel.
That is why Punks in the 70's and 80's had a soft spot for Cash. He did it his way...He was a great story teller, and when you hear his tunes they will get in your head. Listen to "if I were a carpender" or a "boy named sue" it will take you back to those days...but somehow still be as hip as ever. No wonder how so many people like Mike Ness (social distortion), Henrey Rollins, Bob Marley..and so many others..looked up to him.
