John Stewart SPANKED Chris Wallace.

i came in here thinking chris wallace as in christopher wallace as in biggie smalls.

threads for shitty political humor

I didnt think it was THAT embarrassing for Stewart, Wallace was just being stubborn and re asking the same question.

And who the hell is he to question comedy central? Im suprised he was dumb enough to even ask that question I mean it's in the name, COMEDY.

it wasnt supposed to be embarrassing for stewart . . . . . the whole point is that he embarrassed the other guy

i honestly got nothing from that interview. i watched the entire thing and at the end i thought to myself it was obnoxious to hear the same thing said over and over by both stewart and wallace. i think stewart handled it well, but answered in a way a politician would. not what i expected

because he doesn't want to be viewed as a comedian only, like he said in the video, just a comedian FIRST, he wants to keep some credibility

I actually thought that was a pretty good interview. I think they both got a chance to get their viewpoints and feelings out. There was good banter between them. It was pretty intense, but kept light at the same time. I'd love to watch another go-around between them.

RIGHT.

Im an idiot. I was wondering, I didnt think the title made any sense after I watched the interview.

Read it wrong.

I'm not so sure either one of them got "SPANKED". It seemed more to me that at the root of Mr. Fox anchor's argument was totally subjective and the two of them just different opinions on John Stewarts goals and the goals of Comedy Central. I don't think there was a winner or a looser, just seems like they had different opinions on a subjective matter.

I will never understand why anyone ever tries that "gotcha" interview with Jon Stewart after he effectively got Crossfire cancelled doing the same thing. What do you think, Tucker Carlson and Paul Begala were just total hacks who couldn't run a show? Why do you think this will go so much better for you? Every one of these things involves edited clips and loaded questions launched at Stewart who simply answers them honestly and thereby completely defuses them. There is simply no winning an argument with a comedian. Colbert is even worse because he's a caricature.

As Stewart says in the interview, they are attempting to de-legitimatize him and his show because he makes FOX look like a complete joke.

Would have been nice if Stewart kept pushing how FOX viewers are the most un-informed...

At times I feel like Stewart is genuinely wasted on comedy. Dont get me wrong, the dude is hilarious and I love the Daily Show, but when you watch him interview actual politicians, hes a phenomenal interviewer as well.

He does a good job of preventing his questions from being dodged, and he certainly wont take a pre-thought talking point answer, but he also makes an effort to let the person say what they want to say. He needs a show where he actually interviews people, in an entirely serious manner.
