this guy is way underated. he kills everything from jumps to rails to backcountry lines. this new edit just blew me away for thinking he didn't ski much park.PEACE OUT VAIL from John Spriggs on Vimeo.

people dislike spriggs because he has horrible style. hes a good skier though and those switch backflip ones were sick
 
It doesnt help that he is like ten fee tall.

He def has every trick in his bag, but there are other skiers I enjoy watching more.
 
Isnt it just called an overflip. If you did an overflip swtich it would be an underflip .
And I dont think ive seen someone do that in the last few few years, sick with a blunt.
 
I think people dislike Spriggs because he talked a lot of shit waaaay back when, if I remember correctly...

But yeah he's an amazing skier, one of the first to throw doubles in competitions, kills it everywhere, and he has the nicest looking dub 12 IMO.
 
Alright tricks, decent style. The whole taps and shifties thing is gonna get played out really quick once everyone realizes how easy it is to do those tricks. At least he doesn't afterbang the shit out of every landing, that's refreshing.
 
the taps r sick.... and he has a nice style i think but he doesnt try to hard... looks like he trys to have fun dont hate on him for that
 
i might get some hate but i think that baggier pants would help him style-wise. it would just make him look smoother dunno what you guys think.

i'm 6'6" about the same size as spriggs and i have xl oakley pants that barely look baggy at all

or a tall tee for that matter is like pretty much impossible to find for someone who stands that high off the ground

that is what im talking about kills pow and has time to get techy on rails.... but that is backcountry vail (notice the giant drops to flat)
 
if you've ever seen spriggs ski in real life then you would really see that he's got tons of style, both in the park, and BC.

i fucking hate skiers who don't boner steeze the shit out of ever landed trick.

in fact, i would go as far to say i hate all pro skiers that aren't cocky pieces of shit and don't have super baggy clothing.
 
idk. Makes sense I guess if an underflip goes back, and overflip would go forward. Ive never heard a Misty 5 called an overflip.
 
yeah spriggs is deffs one of the most gnarly skiers out there, he can handle everything a little underated but he will make "proper" main stream soon :)
 
Spriggs is definitely ill. Earlier in the season I saw him do a screamin seaman off of an up rail. It was so nuts and Spriggs was just playing with it. He always skis like he is having a blast; doesn't stand around posing and trying to look thug. His style is awesome.
 
who cares about the skiing in that video, what the fuck was up with that song? It sounded like a circus song with someone whining over it in an attempt to rap.
 
Spriggs has weird steeze because he's a little too tall for his own good but he's consistently incredible. Its cool seeing him in stuff too because its nice to have a little change after you watch like 6 other skiers that all have the exact same style. The only thing that really bothers me about him are his switch landings he leans really far forward and it looks kinda lame. I love his rodeos though and he gets really creative.
 
Anyone hating on Spriggs can shut the fuck up. He has the most positive vibe of any pro skier and his rail game is the freshest. And he's oozing with style even though he's not wearing the balloon pants you all love.

but it looks like he could strongly use a shower in most footage i've seen of him. plain filthy.
 
its called an overflip because he head goes over him first, instead of under him first. It doesn't change just because he's doing them switch like most tricks
 
spriggs really does kill it. he's got a smooth, classic style and has like everything on lock. sure, his clothing isn't baggy, but as long as it's not tight, who cares. so what if he doesn't afterbang? he lands perfectly smoothly.
