its good shiat.... whoever writes his speech is really good...and all I know is that he is 725097824385974328957432 times 80 billion times a better public speaker than George Bush

I promoted my CVS and Stop and Shop card from the inside slits to the outside ones...my Blockbuster and gym ID got pissed off, but I told them, sorry guys, laminated plastics just can't cut it in the big leagues

supposidly he wrote that speech, thats what theyve been sayin on the news here but i doubt that.

i was going to go for a quad daffy but i was like, why huck? -mommy

i think hes hot. ELECT KERRY!

If you cant say Fu** at least 10 times in one sentence, you must not really be upset.

Darren Butler 'God made dirt, so dirt dont hurt... its the rocks that get ya.'

Me 'hey, theres a lot of clean people in there that i dont recognize.. must be tourists'

He just finished, i thought it was pretty good. Yeah and he is a much better speaker then George Bush. Isn't the republican convention like next week, or am I way off?

Amazing speach, what jumped out at me was 'I humbly hope that we are on gods side.' way better point of view than bush

going beyond is as bad as falling short, especially on 70 foot tables.

^while at the same time his party is trying to take God out of america. after all, it isnt PC.

i liked how at the beginning he made the point that he was born in the west wing. and how he ended with a regan bit. he and edwards are stopping here in town tomorrow, that'll be interesting!

'the fat lady lives, children, start your trucks!!'

Rhcp, did you watch the speech? He made a strong reference to his faith, and one of his best lines in the whole speech was about it. Now, I'd agree that he didn't say enough about what he plans to do in Iraq, but he made it clear what he was about, and while people were saying beforehand that they didn't know Kerry, anyone who saw him speak tonight can't say that now. It still had shit all on Barack Obama's speech, which was one of the best I've ever heard. You can DL Obama's speech on Limewire if you didn't see it.

I think that everything the democrats had to do in that convention, they did. People know what Kerry is about, and I think the Republicans are gonna be forced to change their tactics a little to sway the swing voters

Lateralis, on his turn-ons:

^Um... Rumsfeld, Cheney and Ashcroft are some of the most brutal, morally devoid men that have held public office in recent memory. They aren't stupid, but they're ruthless, and remorseless.

Yes, i did watch the speech. (guessing that was a rhetorical question). There were two things that stuck out to me.

1. He said he would spend money buying supplies for the troops in iraq.

2. He was saying how he was proud to serve his country in NAM, but in the same speech he said he was proud of his protest. With this one i think he was trying to play both cards. He wanted to prove he is someone who was proud to serve his country and how he knows what its like to be on the frontlines. However, he also wanted to say he is in opposition to war.

I cant even believe he said he wanted to send money to the troops. he voted against it!!! After he does that, he has the balls to go up on that podium and proclaim that the troops arent getting enough funding under the bush administration.

I pretty much said everything i had to say about number two. I just cant believe he would say how proud he was of his country and medals. I cant believe it because he threw away his medals and used someone else's to throw in the Potomic during a demonsration.

-----------------------------------------------

'I am so smart, I am so smart. S-M-R-T, wait no, S-M-A-R-T!'

and one other thing, where are those 40000 troops going if not iraq?

-----------------------------------------------

'I am so smart, I am so smart. S-M-R-T, wait no, S-M-A-R-T!'

With regard to his military service, you're equivocating. I think he was making a good point in that it was clear, in his opinion, that it is possible to be a patriot and to oppose the actions of a government BECAUSE he believes in what the country stands for, that they were doing it wrong, and they could do better. I didn't find that contradictory at all. Hewas saying, he defended his country in one way in Vietnam, and in another way when he came home. There's no inconsistency there.

Hahaha... there are American troops stationed all over the world, not just in Iraq. For Christ's sakes, the military is pulling reservists from wherever they can find them and keeping their soldiers on, do you really believe they haven't also thinned out the troops stationed in other places than Iraq, places that weren't considered as high a priority?

^my point was the main area of focuse is iraq. That is where troops are the most needed. Why would you spread 40000 troops around the world when they are most needed in the middle east?

-----------------------------------------------

'I am so smart, I am so smart. S-M-R-T, wait no, S-M-A-R-T!'

Assumedly if you bolster all of the places in the world where Americans are stationed, you will have enough troops to go around, so that everywhere will be well bolstered, including Iraq. I think the point was that troops will be deployed in a manner that doesn't leave the US military spread thin.

I thought it was excellent. I'm glad he stepped up and delivered.

what i hate about bush is taht every aspect of his government revolves around god, god has no place in politics or in public, like prayer in schools, bullshit

GO FLAMES!!

I loved it, he's just what america needs. What I really liked is how when he directed his speech towards bush at that one point, it was totaly optimistic and pro-bush, unlike bush's commercials that are just bullshitting kerry

HAHAHA wow coming from a democratic party and patrons that have been so anti bush its NOT funny- u my friend are a comedian!

I don't think he was pro-Bush at all. he actually criticized him indirectly quite a bit more than I expected. However, he didn't really ATTACK him, per se. I suppose whether he's maintaining civility in his capaign depends on where you draw that line.

Obama did a better job of making his point, and did it without attacking the repubs very much. I'm still awestruck by that speech.

it was good, i dont know what this talk is about him being a bad speeker though. i hope is crtisizing the president dont harm his campagn though. some were a little far for such a delicate election. not like Bush has been any less critical of kerry at all but whatever, that is what Bush does becase he dosnt have any stong points himself, critize other people, not to say that plenty of people havnt critized him; thats just my opnion but....

kerry is a pretty good speaker, there were only a couple things i wasn't really agreeing with him on. i thought that max c. (whoever the guy was who spoke before him) was a baller too. the guy in the wheelchair with one arm from vietnam.

Good morning, what a speech, eh. I thought, from a rhetorical and delivey standpoint is was good, he can speak. But I would like to point out some things about it. First, in his little personal history he mentioned vietnam, his time as a prosecutor, and his current marrige, but he did omit one sizeable thing, his 19 years in the senate. Listen to what John Kerry accomplished in his 19 years, just about jack shit. He penned one bill in those 19 years, guess his constituants were totally happy with the government at the time. Really, he didn't stick his neck out in his speech so I have little to grab and rip, but I do ask this, look into his voting record. The GOP convention is in a little bit and they will make sure that everyone sees his voting record, and then compare it to his speech, the contradictions will be astronomical. I will give you one to wet your whistle, he made mention of the fact that communities had to take collections to provide body armor for the troops, however he voted down a bill to provide body armor for the troops, so how does that figure?

kerry has a horse face, is a liar and is always changin' his mind! and edwards just look like a lawier!!! the fact that he is so proud of himself and that you can't trust him is just written on his face! GO GEORGE!!

his speech was so damn general....sayin he would stop things that never in all of history will ever be changed...example being, lose of jobs.....there will always be jobs lost, and homelessness, there will always be homeless people no matter what he does......these are problems that wont go away

Many people bring up Kerry's votes in the senate without fully udnerstanding how he voted. Yes he voted against giving money to troops because he voted for another bill that wanted to raise taxes to pay for the war. He voted against because he didn't agree with where the money was coming from. He has changed his mind on a few points regarding the war and I think that most of us have. I didn't think the US should have gone to war, but now that they have, I think they need to follow through with it. I think Kerry is the one to responsibly do that.

But a lot of the time he didn't vote at all.

That usually means the person didn't believe any of the options were beneficial. I don't know though, I can't read his mind. I do think it is hard to find theb alance between going with what a candidate has done i nthe past and what the yare goign to do in the future.

' think he was making a good point in that it was clear, in his opinion, that it is possible to be a patriot and to oppose the actions of a government BECAUSE he believes in what the country stands for, that they were doing it wrong, and they could do better. I didn't find that contradictory at all. '

Of course its contradictory, he voted in favor of the war.

Kerry is a good senator. if you know much about Government, you'll notice that what he has down is the norm, with not voting all the time. as for his voting record, it will show how he voted, but i bet the GOP will leave off some of the stuff that hurts them.
