just thought this deserved a thread and it will get the word out more quickly joey won props to home for the sick edit and know he won't die and luke gaza or something like that will get something too check the salomon update

Rate my Karma a 0, ban me I don't fucking care but thats BULLSHIT. Joey you seem like a legit kid and your a good skier but in no way should have won the suit. His vid was half filler! Half the video wasn't even skiing. And the skiing that was in there was decent at best compared to the rest of the videos. You had some mediocre 1 foot transfers and some pretzels like everyone else in the whole fucking contest. Oh well I worked my ass off and feel shafted as fuck right now. CALLISON got fucked too. Oh well what do I expect? Hand me down gear for life. Fuck this.
 
dude dont be that kid, theres nothing that your words that you just said can do, the contest is finished like all thats doing is giving yourself a bad image. id be pissed too if i didnt win but its best just left alone

(yeah i didnt send an edit and i was actually the skier in his vid. but wtv..) anyways keep on hatin' that'll bring you far man!
 
I don't really care at this point. I know a few of us worked really fucking hard and he seems like cool kid, but I simply do not believe he deserved to win. Its BLATANTLY obvious how much better some of the trickery was in other edits. Im not just claiming mine. Rate my karma a 0 I really don't care... I love this site but the judging sucks...

no i know what your saying, but i mean thats your personal opinion you cant get mad at judges for thinking somethings sick like sammy carlsson many believe got fucked over for the x-games but in the judges eyes it was the right decision its all a matter of personal preference thats why its hard to have a straight up contest but hell man i thought his edit was dope
 
thank you willem! dog you are reading my mind, i have been thinking the exact same thing since i saw the results. i cant really wrap my head around it even. i believe a persons edit, especially a 2 min summer, should have skiing to represent your ability instead of claiming your death. but congrats anyways.
 
yo man i mean no disrespect for you have left several nice comments on my videos...but this was the best edit..not just the best tricks...while you had soo many dope tricks both ways there was no editing/lifestyle/etc.....i knew there were going to be some pissed kids cuz they threw down but didn't take the time to make it an edit and have creative filming

if this comp was souly on tricks...i would've given it to clayton villa hands down...if it was based on editing/filming i would've given it to jason zedak

but they're were soo many elements and you can't hate judges man they're just normal people too

you win some you loose some so be stoked for the kid who won and just hope for better next time

I mean look at sammy carlson...i'm sure he worked his ass off for the xgames..and ended up falling i think in qualifiers or something....you can't let the down stuff get to you...feed on the posotives such as the fact that you probably learned so much dope shit seshing that setup ....and i cannot wait to see those tricks put onto snow in the park
 
Yeah no worries man... I feel ya. I just wanted to pack my vid with as many tricks as possible... I thought the suit would go to someone because of their skiing talent, not how their friends filmed and edited them. I know what your talking about though, its just a contest. I had a great time making mine and I am stoked for Joey having a new suit. Nothing I should say should take that stoke away from you man!
 
Hmm well for one thing, joeys edit was probably the most rounded of all of them. Its creative and funny, 2 things your edit was lacking. Granted, your skiing was more technical but thats not the only thing being judged. I bet he worked just as hard as you, or even harder to make that edit. I think the hype you had at the beginning of the comp went to your head. Your poor sportsmanship is real lame, and further proof that you don't deserve the suit.
 
i think this thread is pretty much wrapped up things were said opinions were shared and i don't htink any more negativity needs to come out of it.....willem gave his props and respect to joey and i think everything that needs to be said has been said.....end thread/
 
first off congrats to Joey, you better rep that shit hard.

But in response to this, And more toward the creators of the contest(Salomon). Next time elaborate on what you are looking for in a contest instead of saying bold statements like "Best 2 minutes gets it."...Just my 2 cents
 
Ok Look theres one thing to be pissed about it, but theres another thing to state the fact that your publicly being stuck up and ruining JOEY.'S Moment...So i have a few words of advice Shut the Fuck Up and grow the Fuck Up Kid....

See, the funny thing about that is, that I can tell you that Joey filmed and edited the entire thing by himself. I heard the kid bitch everyday about how long he was working on filming and editing, and I would say he put in an hour a day minimum everyday in his editing. So you can rip on the judges, but Joey is a good editor and deserves credit for that.
 
Yeah best 2 minute edit is waaaay to broad.

My critique on Joey's edit.

Good:

-solid tricks

-flowed well which made it easy to watch

-unique intro/theme

Bad:

-filming, boring basic shots which became repetitive (i know you didn't have a filmer but there are some ways to make the filming interesting with just some imagination)

-rail was low consequence, not tall, and ride on

-editing was nothing special. it was just clips thrown together. i mean this is an EDIT contest right?

-way to much filler. half of the video wasn't even skiing.

-saying how much you want it and sucking up to Salomon.....why? it makes you seem desperate.



With all that aside congratulations! You won and that's that. Enjoy the G-suit.
 
Most people think Willum should have won. I think Willum is an amazing skier, but he did all the same things, too.

Willum's shots were very repetitive, also.

Willum's rail was not a huge jump on. The rail was skinnier, however.

His editing was better than Willum's.

Filler was funny.

Sucking up to Salomon was kinda desperate, but he didn't do it that much.
 
I wasn't specifically talking about Willem's edit was I? Did you happen to watch any other edits besides your friends and the other few hyped ones?
